We were here for only one night and did not use the restrooms/showers, so cannot comment on those. This is a nice campground, quiet, well-kept, and amazingly in the middle of the city. Not much privacy; it's an open-field type of campground. Nice people, would certainly stay here again.

Campground is clean and well cared for. The amenities were nice and clean. Staff are warm and friendly. The campground is located very close to downtown Halifax and there is a bus route and a ferry that can get you there. The staff explained how to get to downtown Dartmouth and Halifax and I had a great day in the city. It's super great to have a campground so close to the city.

We stayed for 3 nights so that we could ride our bicycles easily into Dartmouth and Halifax. The campground is clean and they enforce “quiet time” after 11pm. The park office closes at 7pm and opens at 8:30am. This can be frustrating when looking for ice or fire wood. There is almost no privacy for any sites or protection from the sun. The park is quiet. Bathrooms are dated but are cleaned regularly. Showers cost $1 for 4 minutes. Cycling/hiking trails come right to the campground. It was a great location for cyclists. Access to the city and ferries is about 20 minutes by bicycle. We would definitely stay there again but we’d want a better site than a sloped grade.

I have to say I'm so surprised to have found this Campground so close to Halifax and Dartmouth Crossing and can confirm all the other positive reviews are spot on. This is a very well cared for facility and the staff are super friendly. We stayed on a tent site, the ground was flat soft grass. We had a decent wifi signal right from our site to get caught up on the goings on during our stay. If your on the go in the area and want a place to stay you won't be disappointed!! Location location location!!!! We will definitely be back!!!!

Last weekend, my son and I had a great experience. The booking of Shubie campground was quick and easy. I phoned to confirm our spot the week before and the person on the phone was helpful and welcoming. This is a campsite I was allowed to take my dog, which made it very exclusive for our family. Checking in was quick and easy and they had useful supplies I was able to purchase at a great price. The campsite was extremely clean and more than big enough for us. To my surprise, the firepit was different and I loved it. It was almost like a grill. I was able to sit a tray of food on top and saw others doing skewers which was a very nice idea. The nearby campers were very friendly. This campground is close to a lake where you can swim and fish. If you want to kayak, there's a spot for that. There is also an on leash/off leash dog park nearby to explore and allow the dogs to swim. For smaller children, there is a playground nearby. The ONLY thing that would have been helpful for myself would be to have electric on our site. It did not change the fact though, that we will be back and always recommend!

We spend 4 nights here as a jumping-off point for exploring the Halifax area. Washrooms were always super-clean and well-stocked, the little beach is lovely and the staff were all extremely helpful and accommodating. Great little park close to everything!

First time camping here, didn't realize what a beautiful spot it is. The grounds are kept immaculate with mature trees for shade or open sunny sites, large clean washrooms, friendly accommodating staff, close to the city plus the beach and Shubie park, what more could want!

Overall good experience. We didn't like our initial site and staff allowed us to pick another without hassle!!! Bathrooms were decent with really nice showers for a little camp area! Showers cost a loonie for about 4min, so if you're fast it's just a buck!!! Good location to branch out from!!!

Good campsite convenient for visiting Halifax. Nice and clean facilities. Pretty open so weren't many bugs when we visited in August. A freshwater beach near by and a playground too. Also you have Shubie park to walk around. Large sites too and good to see tents catered for. Only down side is you had to pay for showers and only sink for washing dishes, a laundry tub, which is a bit hard in the back for washing dishes. Tended to be queue
