St. Francis of Assisi Parish

This parish is literally dying. The town of Revelstoke has around 7500 residents. This is the only parish. They only have one Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. One Priest. And the day I attended Mass while on vacation, there were around 30 people there. So basically, I saw the only Mass-attending Catholics in the entire city. Nearly everyone was older than 60. I saw one child. The music was horrible. Cringe. A disgrace to God. The liturgy was cringe. Effeminate. Irreverent. The Priest (who told me he was the only Priest in town), couldn’t seem to care less that his parish is about to die. Unless a person is aware that missing Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation is a grave sin, so they go here out of obligation, there is really no other reason to attend here. Even the building itself is hideous.If you love The Faith like I do, then drive all the way to Calgary to the FSSP Parish. Or maybe there’s another one closer to Vancouver. Great little church to have Mass during the holidays. Lovely people, super friendly and welcoming. We visited them on the Labour Day weekend, and the choir was lovely. Great psalmist, although I wished she would have sung the Psalm from the ambo. Morning mass is at conveniently scheduled at 9 am so you can visit before starting your activities.
