A very interesting place to visit. The 19th century house, beautifully preserved with all the original woodwork, is home to the studio and gallery of a working artist. The hospitable owners provided an engaging tour of the house and the artist’s paintings. Florin gave a fascinating description of his painting technique, derived from earlier Renaissance practice. His paintings depict a highly personal perspective on history and a speculative intersection of technology and the future. Check it out!

The Art of Ideas Gallery tour is truly an experience full of wonder! The house on its own triggers the imagination with a combination of French and Italian architecture and all-original woodwork and flooring worthy of days of exploration. But the house is owned by a visionary artist who takes the patron on a visual journey via his paintings, photographs, and sculptures, from humanity's distant past to a possible future far beyond what most people attempt to imagine: a future where people and machines merge into a cybernetic organism that travels to the stars! Some of my favorite pieces include the backlit photographs of linear vs. spatial types of thinking, the first floor's display of ships in various stages of evolution and exploration, and the final paintings on the top floor that must be experienced first-hand rather than spoiled with my completely inadequate description. Even approaching the house through the garden deserves an hour of viewing. There are multiple islands with sculptures, monoliths, flowers, trees, and two mirror-reflected, spine-like metal objects that defy categorization.You must make a point of visiting this exhibit. It will create or at least exponentially expand the part of your thinking that wonders how far we have come and how far we might go.
