Nina is wonderful, kind and very talented. This my favourite place to get my nails done. I'm so excited to show off these gorgeous nails at prom!

King Nails in Whitby is fantastic. Nina is a quality nail technician, and I’m a super picky customer. She came recommended by a friend and I’m glad I went to her for my biogel. Thank you Nina, great job :)

Well I was very excited to go with my daughter as they have the child’s chair, so my 4 year old daughter and I could get pedicures together. She really wanted to get the full experience. We arrive for our appointment and there is a lady just starting her pedicure in the adult chair beside the children’s chair and all the others are vacant. I think oh maybe we will get our fingers nails done first and they will set us up for pedicures after. As we are told to go pick out our colours I ask our her going to get our fingernails done first and then have our pedicures. I am told no I can sit at the chair at the very end (opposite side of the nail salon from the children’s chair) where they will do my pedicure and get me all started and then my daughter. My daughter is 4 she isn’t going to go sit all that way from me beside a stranger while another stranger gives her a pedicure. This was my daughter first real time and she wanted to do it together and this just was going to ruin the whole experience and she was getting upset. So I said very nicely No that’s fine and if we can’t get the experience we booked for and that my daughter wants then we will just go. I was also not wanting to disrupt the one customer who was trying to enjoy her pedicure. Now when I booked our appointment online I was very specific about my daughter being young and wanting to do this together. When you book it says wait for confirmation of your appointment via email. I did not get confirmation so I called before they opened and confirmed again mentioning again at the time my young daughter and I wanting to get pedicures done together sitting next to one another. I’m told yep all is well come for the time we had booked online. So as my daughter and I are leaving without trying to be rude or make a scene the one staff member begins to loudly as me across the Salon “Why are you so mad?” “We didn’t know how busy we were going to be” “why are you mad”. I was not mad so I simply said we booked an appointment to get this done together I spoke with you on the phone 30 mins ago to confirm and when we arrive you cannot provide me the experience that we had booked so we are going to go it’s fine. As I am leaving I continue to hear “We didn’t know how busy we were going to be” “why are you so mad”. I was not mad or rude I didn’t storm out nothing. There was 1 person in the salon and you decided to put them beside the children’s chair when you have a mom and 4 yr old booked to come in and the rest of the Salon is EMPTY. I’m not mad I’m disappointed. My daughter left in tears. This should have been very simple

I was a walk-in and appreciated that they accepted me in such short notice. I went in for a pink/white ombre and the technician (Jenny) didn't tell me she was not able to do it until she had tried several times with a powder. I told her we can just do something else, not a problem and she was apologetic and gave me a discount. However, she did not do my nails correctly. She buffed my nails too much, and cut the acrylic base too thin, whch then caused pressure on the side of my nails and felt like they were getting bent in half. Not only that, but all my nails were crooked and filed down too much on the side and you could see my real nail next to the acrylic. I had to pay $20 to get them removed elsewhere because I was in so much pain from this botched job.

My boyfriend surprised me with a nail and pedi…. Lisa did my pedi and it was amazing, so relaxing and such a sweet wonderful lady! My nails were done by ivy and they were bang on with the pic I gave her! Never felt so comfortable and welcomed at a nail salon in the over 30 years I have been getting my nails done. I will be a return customer

I’m not shocked by your response. Typical pivoting and deflecting.I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment I received during my scheduled appointment at your salon yesterday. I had made the appointment a week in advance with Nina, the owner, for a change of color and a shellac manicure and pedicure with specific designs.Upon arriving at the salon at 9:30 AM, I found my feet soaking as another staff member had turned the water on before Nina's arrival. Furthermore, Nina was 10 minutes late, despite being the owner.I clearly communicated my desire for a rainbow French tip with a flower on my ring finger and big toe, providing an example for reference. Initially, Nina agreed to the design, but later stated that she would not be able to do the design on my big toe, which made no sense considering it is a significant nail. As she started to remove my previous polish, I felt trapped. To my disbelief, Nina then proceeded to make two phone calls, attempting to overbook and neglecting any requests or designs I had requested. It was particularly unsettling since I was the only client present, while four other staff members appeared to have no assigned tasks. Nina returned and began yelling at me, accusing me of wasting her time when it was her lack of consideration and overbooking that caused the issue. I had waited a week for this appointment, expecting professional service, not to be humiliated. It is worth noting that I am not the first customer to complain about Nina's temper. If your intention is to spend your money to be yelled at and receive poor service, then I recommend Kings Nails in Whitby, specifically asking for Nina. The situation deteriorated to such an extent that I felt compelled to seek assistance from another employee, but Nina outright refused. The experience was so distressing that I couldn't even allow her to finish removing the previous nail polish from my feet. I had to find a towel myself to dry my feet, which prompted another round of screams from Nina. This incident has raised significant concerns, and if given the opportunity, I would not hesitate to provide a review score of zero.I hope that my feedback will be taken seriously, and appropriate action will be taken to rectify the situation. It is imperative that customers are treated with respect and professionalism at all times. I trust that you will address this matter promptly and ensure that incidents like this do not occur again in the future.Sincerely,Ashley Hedley

I decided to get my nails done here the other day and first right off the bat they rushed me to pick a colour. I got shellac and they were rushed and all over the nail bed. As soon as I walked out of the salon my right thumb nail peeled off because she didn’t take her time painting or dehydrating the nail. I’ve had them for less the 48 hours and they are already peeling off. I PAID ALMOST 50 DOLLARS. DONT GO HERE.

Unfortunately I cannot give this business a great review if you’re looking for natural nails mani-pedi. I cannot speak of their work on false nails. My daughter booked us an appointment here for my birthday treat. We arrived 30min early. They asked us to come back at scheduled apt time. We did. They filed pedi baths (cool water) &We then waited another 45 min for someone to take care of us. Our water had to be refilled 2x because it kept getting cold. When they finally could do us, my daughter got a lovely lady who was pleasant. My manicurist was less welcoming. She almost forgot my foot massage, and when asked if she was going to do it she snapped “I know”. It was the worst! Basically quickly rubbed cream into my shins. Next we moved onto hands. Same bad hand “massage”.The nail polish chipped within 24 hrs. On my hands. The feet polish is still in tact.I do not recommend this salon. The 3rd pic shows 5 days after manicure.

My boyfriend and I came for a treat and it was the most accommodating experience we’ve had. Felt very welcoming and the ladies that helped both of us were very friendly! The design for my nails are stunning; Nina did a fantastic job and I’ll definitely come again!
