Just really disheartened at the utter lack of caring and help the front desk reception offers.Dont even try to call the office for questions or inquiries about your health, as they always act hostile and like your wasting their time. All they want to do is get off the phone with you.Edit: The business has responded below with standard wording saying they apologize and strive for quality service to assure people reviewing these feel more trusting without having actually done anything to change their staff attitude or training. Instead they wish for me to do MORE work and spend MORE time in reaching out to them to repeat the issues I have already brought up with them and should already have written down. Very disappointing.I have no need to reach out directly to management to try and figure out some type of 'specific resolution' to my concern. I simply reiterating the frustration and issues me, and it seems many other commenters, have had with this offices poorly poorly trained frontdesk staff. I simply hope you work on training your staff in more professional etiquette. If things change, I am happy to edit/remove my review.

Dr. Aaron Joe has a very skilled pair of hands. I feel fortunate he was available to perform my eye surgery. He was very professional and always made me feel confident the outcome of the surgery would be a success. Follow up visits were professionally managed of by Dr. Joe and his competent and courteous staff. I highly recommend Dr. Joe for eye surgery.

Today was my first time at this clinic. I wish I had known that the pay parking only accepts credit cards because I don't own one! There should be more than one acceptable payment option such as coins or debit credit cards. I was very pleased with the friendly receptionist upon our arrival. However, our wait time was almost an hour! If MD's are running behind schedule then that should be communicated! Waiting an hour with a baby is less than ideal as they can become restless very quickly. Not to mention, what about a courtesy to the parent(s), ie work schedules? Hopeful next appointment goes more smoothly.

Dr. Waite has been an amazing part of my family since my daughter was born. Unfortunately they has some pretty nasty ladies answering the phone. I am repulsed by the attitude of the lady answering the phone. Dr. Waite we know you can do better my friend we love you but will not continue with this office and this level of disrespect.. I will be patiently awaiting a follow with you Dr. Waite

Long story short: Great Dr.s' but AWFUL reception!!I was first referred here in April of 2021, I had my first appointment in May with Dr. Docherty. When arriving I was greeted by a horribly rude receptionist. Despite it being my first time there I was expected to know which of the three women in the reception box I was supposed to talk to. I generally have a quiet voice and wearing a mask makes it even harder for people to hear me; knowing this I have a prepared note with all the usual answers to questions which I held up in view for the lady to see. Her response was to tell me I needed to say it out loud because looking up at it was too difficult for her. After getting past the receptionist, I had a good appointment with Dr Docherty, he was clear and direct and took the time to speak to me rather than to the room at large, which I greatly appreciate. It was decided that additional testing was needed, and I was told to book at the front. I returned to reception and cautiously approached. The lady I had first spoken with ignored me completely, going so far as to not even look up when I came to the desk. Instead one of the other ladies assisted me with booking an appointment for the test (mid July) and a follow up (mid November).I returned in July. Having decided to give the receptionist the benefit of the doubt that maybe her horrid attitude had been caused by outside issues, I approached the same lady at the reception desk. She was still not pleasant, but was not nearly as bad as my first encounter. This appointment was supposed to be only a test, but the associate was concerned and wanted me to be seen by Dr. Docherty. After a 2 hour wait I was seen, and Dr. Docherty asked another Opthalmologist to step in and consult. Considering that this was not a scheduled appointment, I wasn't too upset about the wait time, though I did miss an important work meeting because of it.I returned in mid November for my follow up and by then I was familiar enough with the receptionist to not take her bad attitude personally. After seeing Dr. Docherty, he decided to order a repeat test locally to happen before my specialist appointment (in Vancouver in March) and he was going to ask another of the Dr.s' if they would be willing to consult on my case. When I went to the front desk to schedule the test, the lady was the one to help me.She first insisted that I couldn't possibly be scheduled until the end of March (after the specialist appointment), and when I explained that the Dr had wanted this before then she got very snippy about how this test requires two appointment slots because it is 40 minutes and then to also book in time with the Doctor the only way to do it neatly was to do it in late March. I asked about not booking it neatly" and she (reluctantly it seemed) booked me on 2 days in December and told me I'd be on a cancellation list to get in to see the Dr.Later that day I was called to tell me they had a day (sooner than Id previously been booked) to get me in for everything.A week later I was called about an appointment with Dr. Joe at the end of November. When I arrived

I take my mom every month to this office, and had a consultation myself with Dr. Joe. Both the doctor and staff were very friendly, professional and hard-working. Okanagan Eye MD also sponsors community events for local families which is wonderful.

Dr Waite and all the staff were absolutely unbelievably incredible. We came in for our two year old and honestly I was expecting it to be very difficult for all of us. Everyone was so kind, informative and fast! The staff and Dr Waite made it a really fun experience for her. We couldn’t be happier with the service and the care. We’re so grateful and she’s so excited to get her new glasses

Great doctors and staff who have been helping me through some complex issues. I have seen 3 different ophthalmologists here (Dr. Docherty, Dr. Sylvester and Dr. Joe) and all are excellent. Dr. Docherty is an amazing surgeon who we are very lucky to have here in Kelowna. I so appreciate the very thorough care I’ve received and I know I will continue to receive. Thank you!!

I just called doctor Waite's office to see when my daughter's appointment was going to be. They said they needed a new referral as last time no one told me anything. I called to check up as her eye could explode from her head and they didn't even have the decency to call check up make another appointment or anything when I stopped at the desk on my way out? They said it'll be in touch nobody got in touch and I was laughed at today. When I called in and I said why do I need a new referral if you wanted to see her in? A. Year? They said that's your problem. Not impressed at all. The doctor is amazing the receptionist Are lacking in their customer sercie skillsSherri cramp
