Fantastic service! Ordered a statue from their online storefront. Great communication acknowledging they received my order and shipment. Fast shipping, very secure packaging and arrived exactly as described. I would definitely shop here again! Thank you

These guys are amazing!!! I live in the middle of nowhere Alberta and was desperate to get my hands on the new issue of Saga. I put in an order and they took care of me. They even took the time to confirm that I knew the release date was two months away. It was a nice touch and I appreciate the care it took to reach out. My comics came promptly after the release and they don't mess around when it comes to packaging. Plastic covers, boards, bubble wrap and an extra layer of cardboard. A shout out to Robert Quinn for taking such good care of me.

The guy who works there asked my friend and i every 10 minutes if we were going to get anything. It was our first time there and he politely kicked us out to close the comic store 3 hours early. Lots of comics, yeah, but kind of means nothing when others also had bad experiences.

Good store for comics. Some figures in basement. Staff never greeted or said anything to me while in there.

Caveat Emptor.I saw an item in their online store and promptly completed the purchase. I shortly thereafter was sent an email confirming that they received the order, and withdrew the expenses from my credit card. The email also mentioned not to hesitate to contact them if there were any follow up questions.I sent two emails in the following days which were never responded to.A week after my online purchase, I recieved my first and only personal response. The product I purchased was unable to be found, and that I would be credited back the cost.At least the refund was prompt after this message.

I have ordered twice, once the owner contacted me to make sure I wanted two copies of a book (some how added it twice to the shopping cart and didn't notice) and the second order clicked on issue 6 instead of 5. He fixed it on his end before shipping. Fast reasonable shipping, and the goods are set up nice in the box!

I received my package today. Let me tell you that the experience has been amazing. Top notch communications throughout and very good prices. The packaging is amazing: packing peanuts, correct box size, bubble wraps everywhere. I wish Amazon/Indigo would take note of this. I will definitely order more.

I'm not a comic expert, went in to pick some up for my son and the service was great, the owner was very informative and helpful... no complaints!

I bought 2 model kits and 12 comics online from Hill City Comics & Cards. I had never bought from them before, and was nervous as I live on the other side of the country. I had nothing to worry about. I qualified for free shipping, and my large package arrived 6 days later in great condition. Everything in side the box was double wrapped with bubble wrap and the empty spots in the box were filled with packing paper making a secure fit. The models were exactly as described with no damage to the individual packaging or shrink wrap. As for the comics, I was shocked at their condition! Whomever graded them definitely were conservative, these comics were in way better condition than described. These were 40+ year old comics, and they were almost pristine. I am very happy with my order and intend to buy from them again soon! Without any reservation or hesitation I highly recommend Hill City Comics & Cards.

I was hesitant to go here because of some of the negative reviews but after visiting I gotta say that *most* of them must be leaving out information about the interactionsAdmittedly, the owner can come off as crass, and I can see how that can turn away many newcomers. But he never went out of his way to comment on anything I was doing like some of these reviews imply. And I’ve spend 2+ straight hours in that basement just diggingThe store is very well organized with a HUGE backlog dating back to god knows when. There’s all kinds of indies as well, not just the big two, as well as lesser known - but still significant - publishers from comic historyPersonally, I find the prices to be relatively fair. On the off chance you find something you can’t justify, there’s countless more you totally could. This place is definitely more geared towards long time collectors, but there’s a great selection of trades and hardcovers, as well as plenty of indies on display for people to walk in and grab a random issue 1 and start readingOnly giving 4 stars because I do agree that the owner *may* scare off newcomers - and while newcomers don’t seem to be his target market nor his main concern, I just generally think that’s a bad practice for the medium AND industry. Comic stores are pretty much the only way to consume western comics in physical form the way the medium was meant to be read. It’s up to the stores to nail that experience to keep the medium thriving in its (imo) best form
