519 School of Hip Hop

My children had an awesome time at the March break camp! We are signing up for the spring session as we had such a great experience. The kids were so excited when I picked them up each day, they had a lot of fun with Jim and other instructors. The content was much more than just dance and included the whole culture of hip hop including art, poetry, music, history… London is lucky to have 519schoolofhiphop!

Before coming to 519 school of hiphop I used to think that breakdancing couldn’t be taught. I was wrong.All of the instructors have a deep passion for breakdancing and pursue furthering their craft still. Every time I come to the studio, I’m struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere, from dancers of all experience levels.It’s clear that the principal, Jim, has poured his heart and soul into making a home for hip hop a home for you.Great place to get great at dancing!

Jim is amazing with the kids and runs a wonderful program. Highly recommend if your kids want to learn break dancing.

How many dance studios teach CULTURE? This studio not only teaches Hip Hop dance and it's origins, foundation and history. But hip hop culture as a whole. From DJing to beat making to graffiti to rocking the mic as an emcee!Classes range kids to adults. They also do summer camps and in school visits for lessons and shows!Highly recommended! Highly entertaining, engaging and educational as well!

I have dance for 14 years; at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, and at The Juilliard School in New York. 519 School of Hip Hop is THE BEST DANCE SPACE I'VE EVER BEEN IN. Everyone is kind, passionate, supportive, and loving. Jim is a massive resource of history, culture, and skills, covering all aspects of Hip Hop. Jim prioritizes teaching the culture and history of the art forms, and that is felt in the community. Every other studio seems years behind in this regard.Dancing has never been fun, rewarding, and validating. Every dance studio in town could learn something from this school and Jim.I have improved more than I ever thought possible, and way more than I ever did at Juilliard! Everything about this place is special. I feel so lucky and grateful to be apart!

In all my 10+ years of dancing, this has been the absolute best community I've been apart of. It truly feels like a safe space to learn judgement free with nothing but support from peers. I can honestly say I would never be the dancer I am now without 519 School of Hip Hop. Forever will be a second home to me!

Our 8 year old son is thriving here! They create a fun, safe, awesome environment for their students! He feels challenged and he has progressed so much! Thank you so much!!!!!

My 7 year old child just completed the spring classes and had an amazing time. Jim and his team went out do their way to make him feel welcomed and to get it know him. The classes were organized and were a great introduction to the hiphop culture. I can’t recommend 519 School of HipHop to enough to anyone with school age children interested in dance.

My son has been taking break dance lessons with 519 School of Hip hop for several years now. His experience has always been positive and his teachers have become a strong role model for him. Jim truly instills a beautiful sense of community with his students... a real feeling of belonging that is so important, especially now given the state of the world. I can't say enough good things about the level of care, and professionalism that go into the lessons taught at this dance school.
