We had an amazing trip with Chris and June to San Josef. They got us to the beach in time to see the tidal pools, they showed us “the biggest tree in BC” and had lots of interesting information to share. They were kind, prepared and knowledgeable. We had a great trip!

Amazing trip! My partner and I did an exploration trip of Vancouver island from north to south and this was by far the most notable stop we had. The guide had an amazing energy to go along with his in depth knowledge of the area. He unlocked a new sense of wonder inside of me for the history that the north island possesses. Can’t wait to go back and learn more from Brooks and the cove adventure team!

Easy booking. Brooks was a great driver and an entertaining and informative tour guide. He took as much delight in our enjoyment of the hike and amazing scenery as we did. Altogether a great day!

5/5. I’ve done many tours around the world and Brookes is the best in the biz! He’s extremely knowledgeable about the North island and provides so many fun suggestions to zhoosh up your tour! Book with Brooke’s and you won’t be disappointed. I’d come back to the North island for the sole purpose of having another tour with him!

A wonderful and full day tour that allowed us to see a part of Vancouver Island that is normally inaccessible to most travellers. Chris and Anna picked us up at our B&B which made it less stressful. They are wonderful tour guides and provide a wealth of knowledge of the area and it's history. The ride into the park is long and bumpy, mostly on active logging roads, so I was thankful they were driving. They have two-way radios to monitor logging traffic so you don't end up in an awkward situation with a very large logging truck on these very small roads. We saw a bear cross the road shortly before arriving. The hike in is about 3km and goes through some beautiful old and second growth forest. The beach is magnificent as you can see from the attached photo. There are eagles at at least three types of shorebirds on the beach.Chris and Anna also took the extra time to take us to a fossil bed that had recently been discovered in the area. It's located on top of a large hill that is a heart-stopping ride up sometimes due to the roughness and steepness of the old logging road. A real privilege to have done this. A great spot to take photos too.

Chris was an excellent guide and a great driver (so glad we didn't have to drive our car all that way on the logging road). The walk to the beach was easy and it was beautiful! We learned a lot about the area and Chris showed us many interesting spots. We also really appreciated his recommendation for things to do in the area the next day. Thanks Chris!
