Whittier Park
I love Whittier Park. A quiet, beautiful spot to eat the Big Mac and fries that reinforce my increasing awareness that at ninety-two counting calories and anguishing over excessively fatty food need no longer take priority in my life. I can now languidly watch the ducks that waddle past and tut-tut over the nuts that risk their lives climbing the tower.

Home to Festival du voyager this park has lots to offer, besides the sweet sound of the music in the background for our famous festival du voyager, this park is great for hikes, jiggers or just a beautiful walk with the kids and dogs!@

I’ve been to Whittier Park mostly to attend Festival du Voyageur. The festival occurs yearly in winter and it’s a lot of fun with various snow sculptures, performers, French Canadian food (e.g., spit pea soup, sugar pie, tourtière, etc.), and live music to listen and dance to. During the day, the Festival has more family friendly activities often with an appreciation of earlier pioneer living and other activities. Definitely worth checking out. It’s often very cold out … they do have heated small venues and fire pits, but dress warmly nonetheless!
