Cross Roads Naturopathic clinic
I wish to thank Cross Roads Naturopathic clinic for having such a professional acupuncturist as Dr. Jen Cherewaty.I am a senior lady in my 70s. I had left hip pain in June 2015 which then extended to left lower leg pain. I had pain when I walked or stood. I had to stop for release of the pain for 2 or 3 times when I walked half a block. I had to sit down when I cooked in the kitchen. Then pain developed even when I laying on the bed.I visited my family doctor many times and did exercise under the instruction of a physio but all the treatment did not help with the pain. Finally I had a CT scan and which showed that I have degenerative disk disease at L4/L5 and that caused sciatica in my left leg. My family doctor arranged to have an epidural steroid injection (ESI) with a specialist in a pain clinic. The appointment is scheduled for mid of March.I am hesitant with the ESI so I went to google to search for an acupuncturist. I checked many acupuncturist in Vancouver but I did not have good feeling with most of them. When I read the introduction of Dr. Jen Cherewaty. I was attracted by her comment: “Whether you are having back pain, insomnia or want to improve your fertility, I have the skills and experience to help you feel better.” Especially, her own experience of back pain due to a car accident in 1994. I think this is the doctor I should see.I saw her on December 8 for first time. After my first appointment I did not have pain when I lay on the bed. After my second and third visit I could walk for one or 2 blocks with no pain. I am getting better and better after every visiting to Dr. Jen Cherewaty. Now I am able to walk for more than half hour and stand for more than 2 hours doing cooking. Her treatment also solved the problem of hemorrhoids and leg cramps. Amazing! I can strongly recommend her to my friends and relatives. Also I had excellent service from friendly receptionist.

During my recent visit, from ON. to beautiful Vancouver, I became quite ill. I had heard that the CR walk in clinic was an excellent care facility so took a chance. Upon my arrival I was greeted warmly and was able to see a physician after a short 45 min wait. Dr King was my physician and he was a very thorough, competent, Dr., with a pleasant and approachable bedside manner. He ordered chest x-rays immediately and also prescribed the necessary antibiotics. I was called within two days(a Sunday no less!!) to confirm that, as Dr King predicted, I did have walking pneumonia . The antibiotics worked their magic and I was able to enjoy the remainder of my visit. Dr King also ordered a follow up x-ray to ensure that my lungs would safely handle my flight home to ON. I have the highest praise for this outstanding clinic. And even higher praise for Dr King!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Wang on and off for about 4 years and I decided it was time to send over a review, as she has time and again, helped me to an impressive degree with some health issues. Some of my issues included: horrible period cramps, treatment of recurring infections, SIBO, help with canker sores (multiple and large), gallstone pain, tips and tricks for packing food while on the road, etc.Dr. Wang is a great listener and I always feel that my issues are validated. Her treatment is always very well suited for my lifestyle (lots of travelling) and she makes decisions based off of that. I’ve been raving nonstop about her to my friends - my nurse friend mentioned she was impressed with Dr. Wang’s acceptance of Western medicine (needs of antibiotics in certain situations, for example), while also treating the body in a very “killing with kindness” manner.None of the dollars I’ve spent at this clinic have gone to waste, and I’ll rebook in a heartbeat.

I was slightly anxious about getting acupuncture for the first time, but Dr. Akehurst was incredibly reassuring and professional, putting me at ease immediately. Her knowledge and bedside manner made the whole experience extremely pleasant; I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Akehurst and will certainly be going back to her in the future. She is a wonderfully skilled practitioner and has a very warm and gentle personality. I am so happy that I found her at Cross Roads Naturopathic.

Jen is such an awesome practitioner. From the moment I met her, she met with a sense of calm and understanding. Especially when you are going through such a difficult time like infertility and miscarriage...it was just so nice to have someone not only understand but be able to help! Jen also was able to treat my insomnia and digestion issues. My cycles are much more stable and improvement was seen after every session. Jen truly cares about all her patients and I wish every medical professional was like this. I look forward to every session I have with her!

So far so good! Melissa (the manager) of the Naturopathic clinic and Dr.Sanjay Mohan Ram have taken great care of me. I have been working with Dr. Mohan Ram for about 2-3 weeks now and I feel like I am ACTUALLY on a road to recovery. He is confident in his approach which makes me feel like we are on the right track. Dr. Mohan Ram has guided me along the path of regaining female hormonal balance and function in my thyroid. I am excited for the journey ahead and for the first time in years feel looked after. My experience with endocrinologists and GP doctors had left me feeling hopeless until I reached the care of both Melissa and Dr. Mohan Ram. - I will update this if need be, but if you are wondering about hormone balance or thyroid issues this doctor is amazing and clinic is very personable. So far I have referred 4 people to this clinic and I have no doubt that they will end up in good hands at CR Naturopathic clinic.

Nice doctors, but a very rude receptionist. Every time I have to interact with her, I get very frustrated.Edited: not sure about any surveys mentioned in the response, but I see enough patients complaining about reception here in Google reviews, and I'm not the only one. I've personally never received any questionnaire from your clinic to evaluate the work of your receptionist. Not sure what can be discussed in the email but I'll be happy to talk about your CR once I'm at your clinic again.

I've seen Dr Akehurst and am glad to hear she's now practicing out of the Cross Roads clinic. Her bedside manner and genuine care for the patients well being is second to none. I found her to be easy to talk to and an excellent listener, not rushing the process and always helping get to the root of the problem. Skilled in acupuncture, she has alleviated my head aches brought on by sinus pressure. I will continue to seek out her services and advice.

Dr. Rida Wang is fantastic! I love problem solving my health with her; she is a great listener and has helped me take care of myself drastically better! In my recent appointment, she made a point to check in on some poor mental health symptoms I was experiencing two months prior which was greatly appreciated. I have recommended her to several friends! Front staff is not super friendly but I have only had a couple interactions with them when I am picking up supplements.

The Clinic in general is very unprofessional, inconsiderate and unwilling to work with you. I have had 3 different issues with different people in this clinic at 3 different times:1. Like most other naturopath clinics, they also do not provide direct billing and I had clearly understood this and had no issues with it. However, when my insurance provider (Sunlife) asked me to split a hefty one time naturopathic bill of $350 into two different invoices so that the payment can pass through my insurance successfully and not get declined, this Clinic flat out refused to separate my receipt into two equal invoices. Apparently, just an act of splitting an invoice was too much work for them. Given that they would have nothing to lose from this, I would imagine that splitting a simple receipt to help a client get their insurance amount processed is not a big deal. FYI, I never got paid for that $350 amount. Had to pay the entire amount out of pocket which was awful because my insurance provider was fully willing and able to cover it!If you are choosing to visit this clinic, please be ready to pay out of your pocket even if you have an excellent insurance provider and insurance policy.2. The receptionist (an older lady with long grey hair, I think Lisa was her name?) - I told her I wanted to pay for my last appointment with a different card and she still went ahead and processed my payment with my old card. And while this was a small and simple misunderstanding, what made me upset was her rudeness, unprofessionalism and lack of apology for this error. I found her behavior inexcusable.3. the naturopath (Dr. Wang) gave me a ton of supplements, none of which helped or worked in any form. When I came back for my subsequent visit and told her nothing worked, she told me she wasn't surprised given that my test results showed a different issue. If a doctor is not 100% sure of the patient's condition, why would they throw a whole bunch of superficial, cookie-cutter solutions/supplements at them? I paid $200 for these supplements (again all out of pocket) and while I don't mind bearing this expense for the sake of my health, I would like to visit a naturopath who is actually concerned about my health and is not looking to provide superficial supplements in order to get a pay day out of me. She will write out a whole bunch of supplements without even knowing or caring about the root cause of the problem.
