Moldy strawberries on the shelf... Lots of them.Other than that, great little local market to pick up a few things if you don't want to drive into a bigger nearby city/town.

I love this town grocery store. It is one of our favorite places to visit when out in the country. Schell's has an excellent selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, and their baked goods section features treats from local bakeries etc. They also have a good selection of health foods. The staff are friendly and the overall vibe is really nice and relaxing.

prices are outrageous. the bakery department has expired and moldy food. owner has very poor customer service skills.

Nice little market in village of Bath in Loyalist Township along Highway 33. Many unique products that you don't see in the larger grocery chain stores. Fresh bakery goods, full service butcher including deli meats and local cheeses and meats. Friendly personable service, ample free parking. Great stop on a Sunday drive, or pleasant alternate route east or West instead of Highway 2 or the 401.

The staff are mostly great!I have had some dealings with the one owner when I was working as a volunteer picking up an order from them. The place I had been picking up for, a community run cafe relying on volunteers, had a deal with them that they would order meat weekly from them in exchange for Schells receiving our ice cream order with theirs and them holding it until a volunteer, such as myself, could pick it up. A personal issue got in the way of the manager putting in the meat order. This lead to me, a volunteer who in no way speaks for the business and just did this one job on occasion, being yelled at and harassed about no meat being ordered and being told they were going to withhold the ice cream from us, property that did not belong to them, until we did. I told him that that was between the cafe and him, and I was a volunteer just coming to pick up the ice cream. I showed him the invoice saying that the cafe has clearly paid for them and him holding on to them was wrong. I called the manager at the cafe, and they talked over the phone. The manager had been dealing with some really tough family matters and had just forgotten to put the order in. After hearing this the man was nice but not really apologetic. He treated me horribly. Since then, I only go if it's my only option without missing the Ferry. Also the prices are a bit too high for some things.

A terrific little hometown grocery. The staff here are always excellent with us treating everyone with a friendly manor. Their meats are always fresh and they have a terrific selection. When your looking for a bit of hometown flavour stop in and check it out. You won't be disappointed

Passing through Bath to Kingston, I stopped at this shop to grab bread. When I got in, I realized they had more items then I expected.I tried calling my wife to ask if she needed anything else besides bread, but the signal cut out when I went further into the store - I had to go back to the front of the store to make the call to have service. Curious why that would be, but it wasn't helpful.Yes, I'm not a recognized shopper in this store since I have never been before, but if the staff (which one included what looked to the the manager) had spent less time tracking me in the aisles to see that I didn't steal something, and more time on customer service, this review would have gone better.Not one of the three staff I saw said Hello (until I approached one of them), asked if I needed help finding something, etc.The other two only kept their eye on me. Feel free to replay your security footage back - you'll find no theft and no customer service.2 stars instead of one only because the girl I approached for help and cashed me out was very polite.

Oh my gosh i dont understand how these people sleep at night. Their prices are outrageous. Even rhe reduced items are priced way roo high. They should be ashamed to be charging their comminity outlandish pticrs for everyday items. Cant eIt for a more family community freindly store tp come to townPrice gauging at its finest they should be ashamed.

They support a lot of local farmers and sellers. The prices are high (5.99 for a box of Quaker Oats oatmeal you can get at Walmart for 3 for 8) but other than that, it's a great, little store. Friendly staff.
