Belcarra Picnic Area

This place is awesome for picnics and parties. Great place to go crabbing and kayaking. Wonderful beach and view, dock is well maintained as well as the rest of the park. Kayak rentals are good and the park rangers are friendly.Would highly recommend the hikes around here especially to boles house (I think that’s the name). This park is also a great host to Belcarra day which is insanely fun. Much better than sasamat lake which is always 1000% busy.

Pay parking makes it much more accessible in the summer months. The beach is rocky with beautiful views of the ocean and mountains. When the tide is low, you can see crabs, Starfish, jellyfish and other sea creatures. There's a variety of trails to explore and even a concession to purchase food and drinks. The park is a large open space with some covered picnic tables which may or may not be reserved. There's also a playground. Dogs are required to be on leash, though many do not follow leash laws here so be aware if you have small kids, are afraid of animals or have a fearful or reactive dog.

Nice atmosphere very quite. Good for family and kids. A nice place for picnic. There is a trail that goes to sasamat lake and buntzen lake. Many people go crabbing and if you have a boat you can go across Deep Cove. This place is busy during summer. There's no so much parking. They have kayak rentals and they have public washroom as well.

Excellent and beautiful place for a picnic. Good for the whole family. Except the parking. It's pay parking all throughout the park. What a shame.

Love love love it!I was worried that it might be very crowded and impossible to find a spot when I visited on Labour day long weekend Friday. Surprisingly, it was quite empty. Cooking was allowed with propane gas only and if the grill was places on the picnic table (not on the grass).Most tables were empty with maybe one other group doing barbecue. But more people arrived closer to sunset.I wish the little store opened beyond 5 pm so that people can go there to grab an ice cream or snacks after dinner.There is also a nice trail to do a walk which I hope to do next time along with some crabbing.Beautiful amazing picnic area to enjoy the sunset. A bit of a drive to get there from the city, but even the drive was pleasant as it’s in the woods. Makes you feel like you’re going camping.

Beautiful view and family friendly spot. You can spend quality time in the evenings with your family and can also do fishing.

to say that I loved this hike would be the biggest understatement EVER. not only was the hike so relaxing, there was also a big reward of seeing jug island at the end. even though the weather was rainy at the start of the hike, it gradually got better, and we were so grateful to see a rainbow at the end. the park was also uncrowded, and had a nice breeze and gazebo picnic area.

Had an amazing hike down the trail system!! Very scenic and beautiful trails which eventually leads to the ocean!!Which I enjoyed a tranquil swim!!Highly recommend for the adventurous type!!

This is another one of the most beautiful places in and around Vancouver. This has a lot of picnic areas, fishing areas and so on. There are a number of trails in and around this area. Jug island beach trail is one of them which we did. Given a chance we would definitely go back there

Always love this place, be it a small hike around the shoreline, or just relaxing in the park with friends and families. It has two covered shades for picnic and barbecue
