I want to personally thank Mike Beckett for his exceptional representation for my case. I was facing charges that I had received from the RCMP during a very bad mental illness episode and Mr. Beckett was able to expertly demonstrate exactly why I should not be charged to the full extent based on my mental illness being one of the many mitigating factors that he had brought up during court. He made sure to request to the judge to reschedule my court date when he realized there wouldn’t be enough time to complete all of his submissions during our first hearing. In the second hearing he took his time in explaining all of his submissions and factors as to why the judge should be less harsh on me. Although the crown was pushing for me to have a criminal record and 2 years of probation as well as other conditions, Mike Beckett surpassed expectations and not only was able to convince the judge not to give me a criminal record but also reduce my probation to 1.5 years instead of 2. Considering this wasn’t my first time being charged with the exact same charges, I was left with the most positive outcome possible and me and my family are so grateful for that.
