Thistle Hill Farm Petting Zoo & Pony Rides

What an amazing place to take your kids! The owners are so friendly, they felt like family right away. They take their time with you, and give you information about the animals. They give you a bag of mixed vegetables and bread to feed them and an instruction sheet as to what to feed which animal. They have so many different kinds of animals and have wagon rides into the pasture for a tour and also pony rides. An amazing experience!

My 5 yr old kid and I had a wonderful experience here today.All animals are soooo calm and friendly. My kid petted and fed every one of them. Her favorite part is pony decoration, where she could put all kinds of props on a pony to make a unicorn!What's more, this is also the one and only place we found near Edmonton where we could pet a wallaby!!!10/10 would recommend to families with kids.

What a wonderful experience! Conveniently only 30 mins from Sherwood Park you'll find Thistle Hill Farm. A wonderful place to let kids experience farm animals. We thoroughly enjoyed watching our kids and they had a blast. Pictures included for proof! Will be back next year for sure. Thanks for the tractor ride Farmer Al!

This farm is hands down the best petting zoo I have visited so far, equally enjoyable for kids and grown-ups. We visited this past weekend and had a wonderful time. You get a bag of snacks to feed all the animals and instructions on what to feed each animal. They have pony rides, pony decorating station, wagon ride, sand box and even a playhouse for the kids to play with. We had a great time feeding all the animals and birds. My child loved petting the little baby goat that had a diaper and a sweater on. Definitely recommend visiting this family-owned farm!

Definitely worth the drive from Spruce Grove. The owners are incredible people, very kind and friendly. I love that they took the time to teach us some facts about the animals.Watching my sons reaction to feeding the animals was quite funny! That's just something we have never been able to do previously. And being able to interact with the some of the animals was just incredible. Lots of memories were made this past Sunday, we just had such a great afternoon.I have nothing but great things to say about this place, we will definitely be going back again this year!

It was great time in this place.The farm facilities are very clean and well organized. Farm animals are super cute and adorable!! Most of them were babies, and they are friendly. So children might feel more comfortable with them.Farmer Al was very kind and friendly!He knows all the farm animals name and does have a way with them. He explained the animal’s features and stories delightfully.We enjoyed all activities - petting and holding animal, feeding, walking and playing with them, riding a tractor.Amazing experience for all of us.Hoping visit again:)I highly recommend this wonderful farm!

Loved this family owned farm! My toddler son had an amazing time here and you can see how well farmer Al and Carol takes care of their animals. They took the time to show us around and the experience was very personal. You get to learn a lot about the farm on the wagon ride too. Would recommend to all our friends and family.

I’ve been meaning to take my sons for a petting zoo experience and I’ve come across Thistle Hill Farm online. When I found out that they were opening their farm up, I was very excited. They did not disappoint. We had a great time and the kids left with some good memories that they were still talking about in the car on the way back to Edmonton.The owner, “Farmer AL” was very accommodating and gracious, he explained things throughout. My kids were able to pet, feed and groom the animals. My sons were also able to ride the ponies, which were very friendly by the way. The tractor ride was a nice treat at the end. I would highly recommend a trip to his farm and we are definitely planning to visit again in the future.Oh and don’t forget to bring a hat and water bottle when you go.
