Anderson Carmel Dr
Dr. Anderson is an amazing doctor who was able to provide immediate relief of my skin condition and a long term solution to help reduce outbreaks as well as diminish scarring. She was so kind, intelligent, helpful, gentle (with the injections) and awesome. Although she had some bad news - that there was no cure for my condition - she gave me hope that I'd still be able to effectively treat it and have a life. Dr. Anderson is prompt and doesn't make you wait at all to be seen. Her staff were nice and organized. The office was clean and public washroom was very clean. Parking is available beside the building for around $1 / hr. The only downside is that she's located in Kelowna and I have to drive 2 hours to see her. I highly recommend this dermatologist.

Dr Anderson is a lovely lady: she is professional, helpful and shows an obvious sincerity in her work. She may be busy and not have a lot of time for each appointment (due to the fact that she is the only Dermatologist in Kelowna), but she's worth her weight in gold. We are lucky to have her in town.

Horrid bedside manner and incredibly rude. I felt completely dismissed when asking questions. Was told I could only see her for one thing despite needing a mole check and a growth on my face checked (and being referred for same). She barely looked at the growth in my face and did not biopsy.Fast forward a few years and had the growth biopsied by another dermatologist; turned out it was a basal cell carcinoma and had to have the whole right side of my face cut open to remove it (from under the outside of my eye, to my nose, to the bottom of my chin). My new dermatologist said it was highly unlikely that the growth had just turned into" a BCC. Had Dr. Anderson been more diligent with my care I could have be spared surgery that was incredibly traumatic. DON'T SEE THIS DOCTOR."

I waited 15 months for my apt with Dr Anderson and I wasn't sure what to expect based off of the varying reviews I had seen but unfortunately the negative reviews are spot on. The front desk staff were pleasant and thats about it. Dr Anderson felt very cold and flat in nature. I felt that she was uninterested in hearing what I had to say and didn't ask me any questions regarding my situation other than why I was there. She was quick to look at my skin for all of 5 seconds, make a diagnosis and offer to give me a prescription. She didn't bother to explain anything about the diagnosis such as what it means, let me know if its curable rather than just treatable, ways to prevent flare ups etc. When I tried to ask her if another issue I was having could be related to the current issue of discussion she was quick to point to her sign on the wall and told me I can only talk about one issue and I'd need to get another referral if I wanted to speak about it further. I ended up just leaving with the same prescription that I had gotten previously from my family doctor. Save yourself the time and don't bother. If you have a known diagnosis and you're looking for some great dermatological advice, check out Dr Dray on YouTube.

I saw Dr. Anderson on two separate occasions for lesions on my legs. She was kind, professional, and caring. She prescribed a cream for me the first time, and encouraged me to come back if I needed further help. I used the cream for a long, long time, but it did not help too much. When I went back, she recommended cortizone shots which I had, and it cleared the condition up right away. However, she did tell me that they may come back (stress related) and to come in again if I needed to. I have just made an appointment. The waiting list is 12 months long, so I have to go to my family doctor for a new referral, which I have made an appointment to do. If you let a condition go past 6 months, then you have to get a new referral. My own fault. I have full confidence in her that when I see her again, she will give me the shots, and I will again be relieved for quite some time. I am very pleased with Dr. Anderson.

A total waste of time - after a long consultation wait for an appointment. I wish I could give 0 stars.Dr. Anderson was glib, condescending, and dismissive of any background information provided. Seemed disinterested in investigating my skin issues, and gave me some antibiotic cream at me (after saying my issues weren't bacterial). This experience is far from uncommon based on the comments on the RateMD site - about 50% of patients seem to have this opinion. She provided no insight, seemed irritated by questions, and gave pathetic (non) answers. I felt rushed out the door, and was given no offer of follow-up. My GP provided way more insight and investigation.I subsequently saw Dr. Sullivan in Vernon this year - She took additional biopsies, and diagnosed severe eczema within a few weeks. I am now on steroid and antibiotic creams, and showing major improvement.I will never go back to Dr. Anderson. Useless.

I cannot thank Dr Carmel Anderson enough for the service and treatment she's given my mom. Results were immediate but require continued treatment and we are happy to drive the FIVE hours (one way) to see her! She's a dermatologist so skin is her jam.I posted my review publicly, so disregard all others who hide behind the anonymity of the internet. This lady is a gem.

Horrendous long waiting time that can make you desperate. No reminder call. I had strong reaction to accutane and was in deep depression, but the earliest appointment is one month later. We have no other choices as she is the only dermatologist here. How sad and ridiculous!!! I have terrible skin for two years without treatment, and I'll probably have scars for the rest of my life, just because I live in a damn place with no dermatologist

The negative reviews you read about Dr.Anderson Carmel are bang on. The front desk staff are not very friendly and actually seem to talk down to alot of people on the phone and in person. As for the doctor herself, she misdiagnosed my skin condition which has been ongoing for 7 months now. She told me I had scabbies after looking at me for one minute under a hand held scope. I actually had to practically force her to take a sample to send off so I could be sure, as I had already tried scabbies treatments with no relief and no one in my life has caught this from me and it is apparently highly contagious. I did the treatments again for scabbies as she recommended just to be sure, that actually made my skin way worse, and cost me $100 for nothing. I called the office 2 weeks later to ask about the results of the actual scraping test, and was told they were not back yet and would be in another two weeks. I went back to her again today ( month later ) and left in tears feeling worse than before I went. She didn't even want to look at my skin after I told her it definitely wasn't scabbies and I really wanted the test results so I could be 100% sure of how to treat it. She then told me they didn't even to the tests and that I was wrong. She said she diagnosed it herself in office but clearly she had no idea what she was talking about. The whole thing was beyond frustrating and made no sense at all. She then went on to tell me I had eczema or a stress rash and that with the scabbies are all connected and in sense the same thing.( They are not at all !!!! ) She honestly had no empathy, understanding, or care for me at all. She also told me I can go to Vancouver if I want and that everyone loves her as she gets flowers all the time and her fridge is filled with chocolate all year from all the ppl who love her (Like that's really important or professional at all). My first appointment she also provided me a judgement on how she feels about drinking and religion and how young ppl do things like this to cause their own issues. Absolutely just blown away that this is the only dermatologist in the whole Okanagan valley. In waiting for my biopsy results which I have to go back to see her about in 4-6 weeks and actually am bringing my mother in with me ( I'm 32 years old )as I honestly need a witness to her behavior and I don't feel comfortable at all with her. If u have a skin issue I would honestly take the trip to Vancouver over her. She's horrendous and absolutely uneducated and unprofessional.

I waited a year for an appointment, and was referred to Dr Anderson after discussing with my doctor that I did not want to be on an oral medication for my acne as it would affect my long term health.I waited over 45 minutes to see her, and she took less than 10 seconds to look at my skin - and I had makeup covering my acne and scars.. She read off a scripted list of diet causes that I could have googled. She did not ask any questions about my condition, lifestyle, or diet. After making it clear I didn't want a prescription, particularily Accutane and yet she continued to insist that there was nothing else that would be both a long term solution or really help my skin.I am disappointed I waited a year for a 5 minute appointment to only get another prescription that doesn't solve my issue.
