Buchanan's Chop House
Came for lunch, paid over $200 for these. Steak tastes like the AAA you get from supermarket and cook on your bbq machine. Flat bread is what you can get from coop. Extremely low value. Patio was okay and service was good.

Buchanan's Chop House
We had date night there and got the big steak to share which was cooked perfectly. The sides it came with were also delicious. We ordered a side of onions rings and they were so greasy we couldn't eat them, but that was fine as we were so full from the rest of the meal. The service was great and the whiskey selection is amazing. Looking forward to coming back and trying the burgers!

Buchanan's Chop House
A classic that had lasted decades for a reason! The food was amazing - the potstickers hit the spot, the burger and onion rings are truly the best in town (and cooked how you like it!), and the dessert the perfect ending to a great night. The whiskey list was as extensive they claim and you can get a decent glass of wine for less than 15 bucks! The service was amazing, the food came out hot and the vibe was genuinely comfortable and welcoming. A new favourite and can't wait to go back!

Wonderful restaurant. I arrived around noon and was greeted promptly. The waitress was wonderful and the food came quickly. We ordered seafood pasta, and it was delicious. Only criticism would be a couple of my clams still had some grit. Will definitely be returning if covid restrictions allow.

A great local haunt with a great atmosphere, delicious food, and wonderful service. Perfect for lunches and dinners, or even a private event. Given the proximity to downtown and McDougall... it's highly likely you'll also run into some key decision makers. It is a calgary, provincial equivalent to a few places I know in Washington, DC.

Buchanan's Chop House
Came here for the YYC Food & Wine Experience and it was great! It was a three course meal for $40 per person.For the first course I got the French Onion Soup and it was yummy. There was a crispy cheese bread on top which was quite unique. For the main course I shared the New York Steak and Chinook Salmon Fillet. I liked the salmon more as it was soft, crispy on the outside, and the sauce was good. The steak was not bad as well. Finally, for the dessert, I shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Double Chocolate Brownie. The toffee was very sweet but not overly so it was good. The brownie was not bad.The atmosphere of the restaurant was a more older style feel. With lots aged pictures and decor hanging on the walls. It reminded me of Old Spaghetti Factory.

We came for a lunch and what a treat it was here. The steak sandwich was made with ribeye, so full of flavour with every bite.With so many whisky and scotch options, they had actual whisky glasses, can't wait to come back to try their whisky flight as well.

The food was outstanding, but the service was a bit off. We ordered filet mignon and salmon, but somehow, the server heard cheese burger instead of steak. We send the burger back, and waited for the steak. In the end, we had to pack up the steak to-go. I had the salmon and it was very well prepared. It must have been an off day for the staff, because the server forgot to take the burger off the bill. We have been here many times over the years, so we will be back.

FAN-TASTIC! The atmosphere was lovely, really relaxing vibes. They know a thing or two about whiskey and every other type of booze. But the food! Wow doesnt cover how good the food was. The best steak I've ever had with the best malbec to pair with it. Round off the evening with dessert and you have the ingredients for the best evening of the year.
