The pool is small. The kids’ pool temperature is cold. I brought my 18 months daughter there and she was shivering in the pool. I think they should have warmer temperature of water at least in the kids’ pool. She got a fever after being in the pool. Unlike piorier and aquatic complex, she can’t stand more than 15 minutes in the pool because of the water temp. She was shivering in the pool so I tried to put her in the hot tube but the hot tube is not even warm enough. I wouldn’t consider that as hot tube. It is just very disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend taking a toddler or even a baby there. They should’ve improve the water temperature there.

Staff here are friendly but there's some cons regards to this facility1. Cold water pool problemI know several people have already complained about the low water temperature, but so far no improvement.2. No hot tub.No hot tub. So when u start and finish the swiming, u feel colder than in other center.3.Not much class and limited capacity. They don't have enough classes , and the capacity is too small.Classes are fulled very quickly.so , I oftenly give up to book the classes. They should provid more classes at the morning and evening considering the volum of members.4. Inconvenience booking system. To make booking the class, I should use APP mindbody" .However

I like this facility as I like to use weights and the gymnasium in the daytime and there's barely anyone there, so it's perfect. As mentioned, the pool is freezing cold. They give you free 2 hrs parking but most don't know this. Drop in fees are outrageous, but membership prices aren't bad. $62 a month for a gym, pool and weight room is a reasonable price compared to all other gyms around. For a family of 4 I think it's like $75. That a terrific price

Beautiful facilities that includes a swimming pool, a basketball court, badminton , picker ball, training area, track, rooftop patio and more !Staff have been nothing but friendly and helpful.Typical gym issues where people don’t wipe the benches after use and you see all the sweat stains on the headrest. Re-racking seems to be non-existent too. But I mean it’s to be expected.Overall it’s a great location.

Facility is on the smaller side considering the prices is more expensive then the Coquitlam community centres. Would be worth it for the gym if you’re an avid gym user but not for the pool as there’s limited lanes & the “hot tub” is tiny compared to nearby community centres like Porier. The facilities is nice since it’s newer but outside of the new aspect the quantity and availability of equipment and space is more like quaint apartment amenities than a community centre.

I agree with most of the reviews here. The whole centre has some poor planning issues. Pool is small and the “hot tub” is very disappointing. It would be nice to think that after your workout you could soak in the tub but it is freezing. A poor design choice because the excess water flows into the common pool.Staff seem like they need better training as I’ve had various levels of customer service on multiple occasions. The gym has new equipment which is nice but there needs to be more floor to ceiling mirrors. Many activities and machines you have to stare at yourself in the reflection of the window to check your form.I have not gotten a chance to take a class because they fill up so fast and you cannot book more than a week in advance. I most likely won’t be keeping my membership once they increase rates because overall, it’s not a good value.

The open gym is always fun for the kids but they always complain about how cold the pool is. My youngest comes out of his lesson with purple lips. I also feel that their swimming lessons have no structure. My kids have a different instructor every time and we get no feedback or report card on how they are doing or what they need to do to improve to make it to the next level. Today looked like no one was paying attention to their student. The instructors were looking around, looking at their watches will while their students were swimming away from them. Bottom line is that their pool area and instructors need work but their gym area is good

I recently signed up for the ymca free week pass. And i also work for many community Centers in Vancouver, and i also had private gym memberships in the past. This YMCA just opened recently i think in the last 6 months. And even though the center is on the smaller size i think it’s really good for location and everything they offer. The only concern i have is since the area its in has a lot of construction. If this is the only center in the area. The size of this location will not be able to handle all the people in the area. That being said as it is right now is great.Let’s get into this review. Some perks they have (pros)25 m pool about 4-5 lanes for the main pool 29.1 CelsiusLeisure pool small/medium with some water features 30 CelsiusHydro pool is NOT a hot tub 31 CelsiusOverall the pool is nice, It’s not too busy and the only down side is there’s no hot tub. BUT there is a steam room but in the member plus side. Which includes towel service, products like shampoo and tampons for women. But that’s all with extra cost with your pass.On the non perk side showers, Every shower has a rainfall shower head, The lockers have their own lock and you just use your ymca card in it. So no need for coins and such. The Family change room only has about 3 private showers and 3 changing rooms. Locker rooms for the pool are great very clean, i dont feel gross when i go in. I had a chance to look at their swimming lessons. It’s an extra cost added to your month pass. About $5-$35 extra a month for lessons and i was surprised to see that the swimming lesson classes with instructors for kids is 4-1 and adults i think 6-1 which i think is great. The instructors would be able to focus more on the students with classes being on the smaller size.Next i want to discuss the fitness centre. I have not used it sadly, But during my tour i was really impressed with the gym equipment. Brand new and well kept. The floor for the gym is a little small but they made it work with the lay out. There are two fitness studios one for yoga, Pilates and such and another for spin. These classes are included with your pass with no extra cost. I love this! And there’s an app to book online for these classes easy to use. There is an indoor running track above the gymnasium which i think is also great. This location also have child mining so you can bring your kids to play while you work out!I also wanted to mention that to get passed into the center you have to scan your card and go through a turn dial. This is great, I usually find that in community centre some people just walk through and sometimes that leads to items going missing. This place feels secure I wouldn’t leave items out or unlocked but it’s definitely feels more secure.Let’s talk pricing, they have times where you can drop into the centre at the city of Coquitlam pricing. And if you come in outside of that window youre looking at a $15 drop in which is insane. They charge bi weekly and offer deals with a duo membership which i think is nice. If youre wondering the bi weekly for adults NOT PLUS is around the same for community centres monthly passes. Give or take a couple dollars/cents for taxes.Overall, I really like this center and the week pass was dangerous for me since I wasn’t looking to sign up for a pass. But i would definitely consider it. I think this place offers things that not a regular community center offers. The only thing i wish that they did have was a hot tub for everyone, offering a “punch pass”, offering more fitness classes, and i know they have two rooms that are available for the public to use but is currently building a policy for people to causally use these rooms.

The staff here never clean any of the equipment at the gym! They sit around, chat each other up, and that’s it. Compare this with Poirier where the weight room attendants always walk around and spray down/wipe the machines throughout the day multiple times. Does ymca not care that they’re paying their staff to do pretty much nothing? Might as well just hire volunteers then and spend the money from saved wages towards a better facility.

I come to 2-3 of the drop in classes/ week and occasionally use the pool - these pieces work really well for me and line up with the ~$80/ month I pay for myself and my 2 teens.Best parts: Some of the instructors are great (a few are clearly just doing the best they can). They have a low barrier option for a lower cost or no cost access - I haven’t personally experienced the process, but I asked the manager to go over it in detail and he made it sound like it is very simple to qualify.Overall I like this YMCA.Room to Inproce:The popular classes are booked full, while if you look around at the machines they are never full, and the gym is often quite empty as well. I don’t think the one big studio is big enough, and I do think they could have done 2 studios with classes running at the same time and had many less machines. When taking a class, no one tells you as you sign in where the instructor will teach from (which side of the room or in the centre), so that can feel a bit disconcerting. The pool is nice mid week mid day when no one is there, it the absence of a hot tub is really unfortunate (there’s a hydrotub, but that’s not enjoyable after the cool water for swimming). My teens barely use the facility, but found the pool greatly underwhelming compared to the Rec centres.Parking - there is ample underground parking. However, the scan codes for the app are only displayed in the parking lots where there is no cell service. Additionally, having asked 3 times for help to get it working on my app, I have given up and just use the machine. The staff have been either super enthusiastic and helpful and lovely, or seem a bit irritated with questions a bit more consistency would be lovely. They talk a lot about inclusivity, but there is a VIP pass allowing access to the stem room and a few other perks, and there are areas/ set ups that would not be simple to navigate with a wheelchair or cane, for example.Overall, hoping this facility can grow into a gem in the community.
