Horseshoe Bay Inn

Burgers were okay. Not amazing, but okay. Hand made Pattie’s which is good, but perhaps under seasoned. Ordered to go. Asked for a side of gravy, but got to our hotel. Room and no gravy. Bummer. Didn’t feel like going back. Did not get a receipt so not sure if I paid for gravy or not.Getting the order took a while but not a big deal. Had a beer and watched world juniors while I waited.

Great pub , Great food , full pours of draft !My favorite is the Ceasar salad , it's awesome. Possibly the best Ceasar salad in all of Duncan/ Chemainus / Millbay.The draft here is the full 20 ounce mug , not the 16 ounce sleeve like many bars commonly serve. The staff are friendly , personable and always in a good state of mind. It's not hard to tell that they enjoy working here. I recommend this Pub / Restaurant every day of the week.

Stumbled onto Thursday night 2 for 1 steaks, so tried them out. Good meat, tasty baked potato, but not so great frozen veggies. Excellent value just to have the first two. Beer was tasty and cold, service friendly and welcoming. Don't expect gourmet, but recommended as a pleasant pub experience.

Built in 1892 the “Shoe” is where friends meet!Delightfully different! These hand made seafood crab cakes at the “Shoe” will thrill you. I was very surprised to find that each and every tasty bite was a delicious combination of scallops and spotted prawns, surrounded by crabmeat, served with red pepper jelly, wow! (My partner as you can see couldn’t resist) Try them!

Visited Chemainus BC. Quaint pub with a sweet outdoor patio. Friendly locals and a good-sized menu. I ordered a seafood salad. See pic. I was amazed at the generous portions of shrimp, salmon, halibut, etc. It was delicious! Not a beer drinker but prices for beer were super too. I would definitely return to The Shoe.

This was my first time dining here, but it will definitely not be my last. From the decor, the drinks offered, the fantastic menu, and the background music, the overall aesthetic really gave this place an authentic pub atmosphere. The service provided by Tyler was fantastic. She was kind, funny, and very attentive. Let's not forget her skills behind the bar, drinks were made quickly with great presentation, and above all else were delicious. The food prepared and presented beautifully by their cook Kim, was by far some of the best food I have tasted in a long time. I was lucky enough to be there on steak night and my steak was cooked perfectly, put together with the onions, mushrooms, and mashed potatoes topped with a delicious gravy made this meal hands down the best steak dinner I have ever had. If you're ever in the area I highly recommend you stop in and visit.
