The Old Courthouse Inn

To be fair I have edited this review instead of leaving another 3 star review. I am sorry it wasn't the hotel I went to. It was the restaurant inside the hotel. This is a legit review and I am a real person! Its very comical that you seem to think I am some sort of bot. I'm not sure how you would like me to prove that I ate at your establishment, seems a bit ridiculous. I wasn't trying to offend anyone just leaving an honest review. I had a half order of eggs Benny. The hollandaise sauce was clearly home made which was nice but kind of vinager-y. Like I mentioned food was average. The service took forever! There were three ladies working. When I asked for the bill, I waited forever, over 30min.. Ended up paying in cash because I waited so long! The bill came to under 15$ which I thought was a fair price. Promise, I'm a real person. Once again sorry it wasn't the hotel I rated it was for the restaurant.

Fun place to stay! Very cool old historic building with lots of interesting decor. Kelly was extremely helpful when I checked in and explained thoroughly how the amenities in my room worked. My room was huge (#6) with a lovely, comfortable king-sized bed. I really enjoyed the wide selection of streaming TV available, and other modern" amenities like a tea/coffee maker (Keurig)

Kelly, the owner, is great. So helpful and clearly cares about his inn. I loved the old timey decor. There's a piano with ghost recitals" during the day which I thought was SO CUTE. We stayed in room 7 which had a gorgeous and large bathroom. Apparently Kelly made the sink himself!! The AC was so nice during the heat we are having. Location is good - brewery nearby and awesome Indian food. We found a "secret" little patio where we played cards. Would 100% recommend. Thank you for having us!"

This is the place to stay in Powell River! They do everything right. Nice location, decorations, everyone is friendly. They even go green by not having those small single use soaps and creams in the bathrooms. Breakfast and nice views included.

I would honestly give 5 stars but unfortunately I didn't get any breakfast. It states that breakfast is open from 7am to hotel guests, but I was told that it's not until 9am. I was a little disappointed by this, as I chose this place based on getting breakfast.

It was definitely a different experience as it was a govt building before and they have converted each room to a hotel room. They have only 9 rooms. They have kept them in old fashion. It was worth staying there. We enjoyed their breakfast too. There were tons of choices in breakfast. I would recommend it.

We have stayed in Powell River a few times now, staying at different motels/inns/boutiques each stay. We were very, very pleased with our stay at The Old Courthouse Inn. There in tremendous value here. Check in was very smooth. A gentleman showed us to our room and went over various details such as WiFi, using the TV, using the mini fridge, etc. The room was VERY clean, and every appliance worked (contrary to other reviews). Yes, it did take time to get hot water in the shower, but this is typical of a building built during this time. When we booked we were completely unaware of the included complimentary hot breakfast. To our surprise, we were served a fabulous Eggs Benedict in the morning downstairs in Edie Rae's Diner. The woman serving us was exceptional, making sure we had everything we needed. We definitely recommend The Old Courthouse Inn.

Historic Powell River is worth the visit with so many well-maintained heritage buildings including the Patricia Theatre the longest continually operating theatre on the West Coast. Watching a movie there is not just a night at the cinema but a historic experience! But the real gem in town is the Courthouse Inn a real courthouse and prison restored and repurposed as a hotel. It is lovingly filled with real historic artifacts. It also includes breakfast at Edie Rae's downstairs which is itslef worth the visit to Powell River.

Kelly the owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, the Old Courthouse Inn is literally the old courthouse of Powell River, turned into accommodations. Each room and the common areas are decorated with beautiful and interesting antiques, gorgeous sunset from our room, the bed was super comfy, and there were several restaurants, a community building with a market and some shops, a brewpub, the Patricia movie theatre, and some other historic buildings to go see all within walking distance of the inn. The breakfast was great, the restaurant staff were super friendly, and everything was made even better and more special when you read about Edie Rae, the restaurant’s namesake, get ready to shed a tear when you learn about this amazing woman! Highly recommend you stay at this lovely spot! LGBTQ2SIA+ friendly :)

A nice basic hotel with clean rooms and decent amenities. Excellent mattress and bedding, pretty basic otherwise but all the necessities were there. There's a cafe downstairs which provides a free breakfast to people who stayed the night (proper one, not just continental) and two restaurants across the street (Greek/Italian and Indian). Very close to the mill, but a few minutes from the main part of town. Would definitely stay again.
