McPhail's Cycle & Sports Ltd

Disappointed - unless you are looking to spend thousands on a new bike (that will probably be stolen in this economy) they are not helpful and were ‘unable’ to service / repair my bike that was successfully repaired by another bike shop for $200!

Came in yesterday to pick up a mini pump, lights, inner tube, gels & chamois cream. Was super happy to find they had it all! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, a one stop shop for all of your cycling/bicycle needs :))

since I was a kid (over 25 years ago, ouch) I have always known McPhail's to be the best cycle shop in Waterloo Region. Today, I bought my first new bike in decades. The sales rep, Cal, was amazing and didn't push me towards anything past my budget. Knowledgeable, friendly, and very low-pressure, I was incredibly pleased with my experience. I'll never stop using McPhail's for all my cycling needs.

0 stars if it was possible, honestly. Staff is not friendly at all. Good service is the simplest thing a business can offer and they’re doing an awful job. Mentioned it’d be 7 days to do service on my bike, 8 days later I call and am told rudely that it’d be done in an additional 2 days. Then 3 hours later, I get a call that it’s done..suspicious to say the least. When you pick up your bike, they don’t even bring it upstairs before asking for payment. Clearly more concerned with getting their money then ensuring customers are happy. Won’t be back

We had the best service and shopping experience from this bike shop. Tyler was great with helping our boys choose their new bikes and for getting them ready so quickly. This is shop local at its best!

I recently purchased a bike here, i was helped by a great guy who I found out later was the owner Jordan who took all the time to answer my questions and my indecisiveness helped me through. I asked for a modification which he was more than willing to assist with. Later on I realized I did not like the modification and went back to have it put back to stock and was given yet another option which was perfect! I may not be the easiest person to deal with but the service here was refreshing. Oh the person that helped me the second time was the other owner. Thank you both for a great experience. I would recommend this place to anyone.

For the last decennia I have taken my bike for service to McPhail's, the best service department in town! Recently, I bought an e-bike from them, they got it all ready for me, did adjustments for me. Again, great service from a knowledgeable staff. Thanks, Jenn, Peter, Jordan for your patience, advice. Your store has a great vibe.

love this place. I have been going there for decades and the staff i'm familiar with have always steered me in the right direction when it came to getting parts. I feel bad becuase i havne't been in for probably 1.5 years when components got scarce. I've been wearing down all my bikes equally instead of running down the parts on 1 bike and going to the store every other month. LOL. Anyways, i hope to be in some time before summer to check out the bikes.

I just popped in this morning and they generously helped me get my new shoes set up with the clips along with changing out my pedals. I’ve been coming here for years, and I always appreciate the little gestures of kindness and helping me keep my bikes in good condition! Thanks!

I'm very happy with my purchases from McPhail's. I purchased two mountain bikes from them, one for my son, and one for me.The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They were patient to explain all the things that we should consider and why, and never pressured me as I absorbed their knowledge and thought about what we wanted.One month (almost) in and I've logged over 200km on my bike at The Hydrocut and although I purchased one of the least expensive bikes as an entry into the sport, my BMC rides like a dream and is a vast improvement over my old junk bike that I purchased as a commuter bike 20 years ago for $20 used. My son has logged almost as much as I have and we both love our bikes, and are happy with the quality of the products from McPhail's.There is a shared parking lot behind the store, and lots of street parking nearby. The store is not fully accessible as there is step up to the main entrance (yes, it's a bike shop, but they sell more than bikes).I'm happy with the products and the service at McPhail's and I am confident that our new bikes will be well taken care of whenever we need to bring them in for service. Highly recommended.
