Vancouver International Children's Festival

This comment is from a somewhat different perspective. The organisation is basically built on volunteers work entirely. There are about 10 paid employees and hundreds of volunteers from high schools and colleges. In the meanwhile these students are hardly respected. Some of them need to work for 2 weeks without a day off during the festival, and the job is mostly labour. The organisers don't even initiatively offer lunch breaks. I just feel there should be better ways of treating these kids as we were all students at some point of our lives and we know how difficult it was. Using the students eagerness of getting a reference letter to abuse their labour is very undignified.

I enjoy how this festival animates Granville Island and spreads art over the Lower Mainland. Great for kids and kids at heart <3

We had a wonderful time at the Children's Festival in May! We liked the hands-on craft opportunities, the music, the wandering performers and of course the performances. Nice way to spend the day as a family. The show was entertaining for the kids but as parents we also enjoyed it. It's turned into somewhat of a tradition and we plan to go back next year.

I went to the Children's Festival at Granville Island this summer (2016) and I thought it was quite well done. There were lots of activities to keep kids busy for hours spanning a large area on Granville Island. Parking areas were also made available outside of Granville Island since parking fills up there very quick. Great job.

Thank you for an amazing festival. It was wonderful to bring my children to watch live shows again we especially loved Won'Ma Africa. Looking forward to next year already as my youngest said...when can we come again!""
