The Place Steakhouse
Used to eat here all the time when I lived in the neighbourhood. Decided to come back for a birthday meal with my best friend and it did NOT disappoint! The bruschetta is what brought us back and it’s still as phenomenal as ever! I absolutely love all the woodwork and the atmosphere of this long running family restaurant in the heart of beautiful Bowness. My parents even had their wedding dinner here 35 years ago! All the food is on point and the service is even better. We were also having drinks to celebrate my birthday and the server gave us a free shot to help celebrate. It was a very affordable night out for the two of us. I have always loved this place and I highly look forward to going back!

The Place Steakhouse is a quiet gem nestled off the beaten path in Calgary Alberta. The atmosphere is cozy, quaint and very relaxing. The menu consists of Pastas, Pizzas, Burgers, and Steaks. They specialize in the pastas and pizzas. During our visit my wife, daughter and I all had various pastas which were outstanding. My son had a pizza, which I assumed was very good as he ate all of it in one sitting. We also got a Caesar salad that was divine. I'm a meat and potatoes kind of guy, and this was the best salad I've ever had. It alone is worth the visit. We were stuffed at the end of the meal but had to partake in some dessert, which also didn't disappoint. A rich creamy chocolate cake, with a side of vanilla ice cream was the perfect end to a wonderful meal. The service was outstanding and one of the main reasons we came back a second night. If you live in Calgary or are visiting I highly recommend stopping at The Place Steakhouse.

You know when your food is so good you want to cry, and then you're happy the rest of the day? That's what this place did for me. The food was to die for; staff were very friendly; and the atmosphere was great! We went last night for the first time, then came back today because it was so good. It was even better the second time!

The overall quality and taste of the food was very poor. The steak had little to no flavour and was not at all medium rare. The spaghetti was very similar in the fact there was no flavour.For steaks I'd recommend The Keg or anything similar and for any Italian dishes I would also avoid this restaurant.The service was also pretty poor with them adding an ingredient that I asked for without due to allergies.

Placed an order for pickup about 30 minutes before they opened on Valentine's Day. I felt lucky that they answered before their hours began. The food was ready for me when I got there just as they opened. Each dish was very well received and there was nothing left in the to-go containers. This food was just as I remembered it, from when I was a kid and ate there. I can't speak to the atmosphere much, but it was cute and clean in the seating areas!

Man, the guys here make this place seem like home! The food tastes like it's homemade and is beyond tasty! I had the all-meat pizza with thin-crust, and a tortellini soup. Both were great and I would definitely eat here again!

The stumbled on The Place looking for a place to dine in as many places do not offer dine in service during this Covid 19 event. We sure are glad we went. Don't let the 70's steakhouse decor deter you. For us it enhanced the experience! The staff are truly excellent. Friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and served piping hot. So nice on a wet Sunday evening. We would not hesitate to go back. Places like this are becoming more rare, so please check this place out and understand why this place still exists in an age of craft beers and single origin coffee.

Great cozy restaurant. Large menu with lots of choice. The Caesar salad was VERY good and recommended. I had the steak and my wife had the onion soup. Both were excellent and cooked to perfection.

Great local restaurant!. Went here for the first time recently and was pleasantly surprised. My girlfriend and i each had an individual sized pizza and shared the potato skins for an appetizer. the individual booths with lots of privacy is a nice touch and the service was prompt and kind. Definitely some of the best pizza i have had in a while with fresh ingredients and a nice tomato sauce .my daughter really enjoyed the baked fettuccine. i will be back to try a steak and highly recommend the pizza!
