Thai Away Home at City Square
The food court at City Square has never been an exciting place to visit… I mean, the whole City Square complex has seen better days and seems to be very underutilized. That being said, we do find ourselves here every now and again and, on one visit in early February, we decided to eat at the their food court.Thai Away Home (they have 3 other Vancouver locations) piqued my interest so I decided to try the Green Curry Chicken lunch special with spring roll ($9.59). It’s kind of difficult to make food court Thai food look nice but we were pleased with how it tasted. The curry sauce is definitely the stand out here but I have to say that aside from that, it was a little basic… there wasn’t much chicken in the dish (although the eggplant was nice and tender) and some sprigs of basil.To be fair, I practically drank all the curry sauce… it’s really good. But this could have been even better if they incorporated a bit of veggies like onions or peppers in it.

Photos might have a pink hue to them as the windows in this place had a film over them so sorry for the color distortion. The food was good here. I really enjoyed the bamboo curry! The tea was great. The papaya salad, maybe cuz I expected it to taste different it wasn’t a great hit for me. I would be open to try their other dishes. Portion size is pretty standard.

Really like the Thai coconut chicken soup (tom Kha Gai if I recalled correctly). Ordered as a takeout and everything tastes great except a bit salty for me but my boyfriend loves it. We pretty happy with that they can make whatever in their menu tasty.

Khob khun ka ขอบคุณค่ะ !!No-fuss, happy go lucky value for money Thai street eats at low fare lunch haulwith plenty of vegetarian Tofu options.At the price, this was a plentiful portion with additional veggie spring roll and an awesome experience. I got my standard go-to Pad See Ew ผัดซีอิ๊ว (Lunch) which had a good variety of veggies, eggs and noodles with a good flavor of oyster sauce. I was stoked when I saw this local business has branched out a few more franchises around the city and offer a phenomenal Uber eats deliver offer!Support local business!

I've been here a few times back when they resided on Cambie-17th and enjoyed it. However in the past 2 times I've visited this place I noticed the quality has gone extremely downhill.My most recent visit was quite disappointing and I felt I needed to write a review for others. I ordered a standard pad Thai for lunch and what I received was essentially soup noodles which did not help make it appetizing.For the price of $12 after tax, you may want to go to spend your money elsewhere.

I wish it was good. The combo for one is a sham. You pay more money but get less food. I expected multiple spring rolls, but there was 1 spring roll and a pretty gross soup. the salad was a few leaves. The insult to injury was that the takeout container was smaller than if I had just gotten a pad Thai, since they had a space for the salad. Pad Thai tasted very ketchupy.

I ordered from here today, and their fried chicken for 7$ is actually amazing. Super tasty, really well cooked.Unfortunately, the pad Thai I ordered had raw tofu, and it just tasted completely awful! I took one bite and had to spit it out. The fried wontons weren’t great either.The picture added shows the white, uncooked tofu. Throwing it out :/

Thai Away Home at City Square
I have been looking for really excellent Thai food since moving to Vancouver a year and a half ago and omg, this is it. It's quickly become my go to for delivery and my choice for all special occasions. Such delicious food, good prices, and they are great about doing things vegan friendly. Cannot recommend enough. Whatever location you go to or order from, do it now! You won't regret it.

Thai Away Home at City Square
Usually order here, either by Uber eats or to pickup.But last Thursday I got so small chicken wings. I don’t know what happened. Was it they reduced the size of it or I ordered through Uber eats quite late, around 8pm so they run out the regular size of chicken wings?Hope not happen again! Otherwise I may think to change another Thai food store.
