I've dealt with customer service about 5 times since joining IBKR a year ago, via phone and online tickets they have been great and fast. Most recently I had to submit a form to transfer my group RRSP from Manulife to IBKR, this is due to Manulife not accepting ATON transfers. Questions about how to make the transfer, what form to use and the speed to process was much faster than Questrade. IBKR is an advanced tool with low fees both to trades and foreign exchange. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone but for my needs and people looking for an advanced platform, it 5 stars. Thanks!

worst customer service ever. called in waited 1 hour. this lady answers the call I asked her a question she started yelling. I told her I do not want to talk to her. she puts me on hold 2 hours now no one answered. good thing I never transferred money from my other accounts. ill rather pay more to have a good customer service that i have with my current trading platform. worst ones out there. 5 days to transfer money in the account. ill be pulling my money out.

I use the IBKR trader platform and it is Great interface with easy features. Customer service has been great when needed also. Thanks IBKR.

Horrible service, no possible to cancel transactions after missleading messages on IB website, customer service doesn't help. Another bad experience in 2023.

Customer support should be improved. a regular waiting time is between 1hr to 1:30. Also they are not educated at all. They cant explain the most basic things. I like trade with IB. The hot key setup is mess, and I have to lose a money before figure it out.

A lot of people complaining about customer service are probably not experienced traders. IB is for people who already know a lot about trading, and when I do have more advanced questions and call in, customer service usually can answer my questions quickly and understand me as well. I guess if you ask newbie questions and they give you short direct answers without much explanation it can seem abrupt and unfriendly, but again this platform is not for newbie traders.

Customer service is great, as long as you don't mind waiting a minimum of 1-2 hours on hold. Reports and accounting are an absolute nightmare. You will not be able to get a statement of transactions, by date, like every other broker provides. Tax form revisions keep coming... received one for 2019 taxes in March of 2021. Trading platforms are ok, but they are trying to be all things to all people, so it takes a long time to set things up to suit your needs. You have to be careful which trader workstation version you load because some features are unavailable in certain versions. Margin rates are great, and commissions are reasonable.

I've enjoyed Interactive Brokers for years now. I happened upon some of the reviews from others and thought of adding my opinion. The customer service is great if you get Chicago on line, if not, they can be cumbersome. The platform is built more for traders that frequent the service more often. It takes some time to get use to but is totally customizable. The accounting is stellar but again you have to get use to looking at it daily and in a short time you know it backwards. Commissions are cheap and fill times that can't be beat. I'm just transferring my RRSP money over from Questrade from which I have some real complaints about! The transfer process was extremely easy as I already had a RRSP account with IB. I went with IB to trade, not to talk to customer service. I’ve been with Questrade, Tradefreedom, Ameritrade, Optionsexpress, Tradestation and TD Easy Trade. Can't beat Interactive Brokers..

I noticed other reviewers complaining about the customer service. IB commissions are infinity cheaper than other brokers ($5 to $10 a pop) in Canada and generally for people who already have decent experience. The platform's charting is not the greatest but can be done elsewhere
