Visited the consulate for my visa and they were fast to respond to my emails. I also received my visa a few days after the in person visit. Couldn’t believe how fast it was. Absolutely recommend

Theresa was so helpful in answering all of the questions we had on passport renewals prior to our arrival at the Consulate. Sandra processed all of the paperwork for us and double checked all of our documents for errors. Theresa and Sandra really made the whole process of passport renewal EASY! Thank you!!

They deserve 0 star. Kept my passport for 4 weeks and couldn't retrieve my finger print. Didn't even bother to call and let me know. What a circus. Using covid as an excuse to slow down the visa process and raise visa fees. Lazy and very unprofessional people.

I recently contacted the Consulate of Italy in Detroit on behalf of a friend who needed to apply for a new Italian Passport..The people I spoke with at the Consulate were very friendly and professional. The lady who helped us through the process was Sandra. She was very friendly to us and helped to make the process very easy to complete. I reached out to the Detroit Italian consulate in early July 2022 and received an email stating they would be out of office for a month. I reached back out in early August. Nothing. I reached back out a few weeks later and again in early September. Nothing. I've contacted different emails provided on their website and called multiple times without being able to leave a voice message. Nothing. I just need them to notarize a form. This is ridiculous.

Rosa was amazing and great help! We needed some additional service and she was super kind and very friendly!! The consulate is fortunate to have all-star employees like Rosa! Service was quick and scheduled appointment was on time. Zero wait time, I highly recommend this office!

Super fast but listen up! It’s hard to find the office. Enter through the first floor Mariott entrance and walk through the double doors to the building. To your left there is a security guars who is going to be able to guide you to the offices. It’s a maze so go there with time!

Excellent experience. I went to Detroit - Italian embassy for tourist visa this month. Consulate officer were quick and it took hardly 20 minutes to complete the whole visa process. Consulate officer - lady who helped me was really nice and friendly.I have been sending them emails on my questions on visa process before my visit and every time I got quick responses with all required details. I am impressed their prompt responses. Thank you :)****Long overdue review update****I posted my first review immediately after visit to Italian consulate which was excellent. I know my update is late but better than never. When I received my passport, there wasn't one, there were 2 passports. I was sent someone else passport in mail along with mine. I was shocked and reached out to consulate immediately and mailed back the passport to consulate. I wondered what if that happened to me and other person wasn't nice enough to return on time. Being an alien on work Visa in United States, it's very risky losing your passport. That's complete ignorance, Consulate should be very careful with passports. I hope that guy got his passport back and traveled on his planned dates.I am reducing the rating to 2 stars and updating my review for awareness.
