The Upper Hand | Glass & Closet Products - Edmonton

Booked Upperhand for 10 am on July 28.The appointment was to set up smarthome. It is now close to 3 pm and nobody showed up or gave us a call.I took a day off today to stay home for their visit!I tried calling UpperHand but the phone line isn't working either.Update.By end of day, I was able to connect with their owner.They acknowledged they made a mistake and rescheduled to Aug 6.Yayay!Still a bit puzzled though how this could have happened when I booked this appointment weeks in advance.So my advice to everyone would be to call the day before to confirm your appointment.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. They've had to come back to our house at least 5 times to fix issues with their installation of the glass surround and door on our shower. They first time they installed an obviously damaged glass shower door and tried to leave our house without us noticing. They also did an extremely poor job of installing the trim that holds the glass in (leaving sharp edges and not measuring the corners accurately). Now we are waiting for them to come back again to fix the trim and replace the seal on the bottom of the shower door because the one they installed last time is too short and water is leaking onto the floor. They have also made appointments with us and not shown up multiple times. We are worried they won't come back to fix these last issues. Just wanted to warn anyone wanting to use this company about their poor workmanship and how they treat their customers.

We had a great experience with the upper Hand from initial inquiry and design with Lisa to final installation! The communication was clear and timely, they meet expectations for design, explanations and good pricing. Jay explained the install process as well as after care. Everything was fabulous and I have recommended The Upper Hand to others.

Upper Hand did an amazing job with our built in shelving for our mudroom. They also installed speakers in our bonus room and great room. They were extremely helpful with set up as we are not handy with technology. The owner responded quickly to my questions and offered real solutions. I highly recommend this company and would purchase from them again.

Scott and his whole team were excellent to work with on our full kitchen remodeling. The took care of the whole project from start to finish. They were meticulous in their planning, fabrication and install. the also ensured to increase the overall storage space and utilize some of the coolest hardware I have seen in a kitchen, to maximize he usable space. Lisa their designer, understood the look we were going for and made our kitchen look timeless and high end.They also designed and install our custom shower, and closets.I would highly recommend Scott and the Upper hand to anyone needing custom closets, cabinets, shower doors, or a full blown kitchen!

I’ve hated the closets in our house since we moved in. Functional to a degree but I wanted more. I spent a lot of time researching closet companies to see who was out there. Man, everybody and their dog offers closet shelving installation.For some reason a lot of the people I contacted through their websites didn’t even bother to respond to my inquiry. I don’t have the time to visit each brick and mortar store in person. Hey you owners! What has happened to customer service? If business is a little slow you may want to improve on how you handle prospective customers! Ignore is not a wonderful business plan.I spent a lot of time designing what I wanted and sent those renderings to a lot of companies. Scott with the Upper Hand was one of the only ones to get back to me in a decent time frame. He explained what was good and not so good about my design. Funny how no one else that did reply bothered to point out the flaws in my master plan. Thanks Scott! Like the wife reminds me of daily, I’m not always right.In a couple of days a smart young man came out to measure my house. He was on time and very polite. He had a copy of the drawings Scott and I had corrected. Once the measurements were double checked he explained the rest of the process to me. Nice, I like details.So like less than a week later I had an appointment for them to come and install my master piece. Oh so cool! It all fit together like a glove. My eyes filled with tears of joy as I realized my children’s clothing and assorted junk would now be stored neatly and organized. Just as nature had intended. Even my ever-critical wife looked at me with amazement and wonder. Realizing that I managed to accomplish something without having to nag me about it for years. Scott and his team were so nice to deal with. No question of mine was to dumb to patiently answer. They delivered on time and the whole job looked better than I could have imagined. I love all my closets now. So much more room. Now if only Scott did landscaping. I hate my yard.

We had a challenge getting our shower installed with a previous installation company. There was constant leaking due to wrong size glass and other issues. After many frustrating attempts to have the problem fixed we finally found the Upper Hand. They responded quickly and set an appointment to help us. After a quick first visit they diagnosed the problem. The correct glass was ordered and once it arrived it was installed. We now have a non leaking shower for the first time since the original install. I am SO thankful to the Upper Hand for helping me solve this problem.

Scott and Jody were both easy to deal with. Great customer service, our mirror wall for our home gym looks great. Deposit and final payment were incredibly easy. I won’t hesitate to recommend them going forward.
