Wow Hot Pot

Wow hot pot is a fantastic addition to the culinary options in Halifax. I love taking friends and family here! The food is fantastic. The young staff are fun, attentive and refreshing. The whole place gives me hope for this town. Here's to the delicious future of Halifax!!

A real fondue! Affordable and tasty

Went there last night for dinner and had very poor service. When we requested additional food it was ignored. We waited for 45minutes for the food refill and nothing. The Sichuan spicy broth was rather good, but the portion sizes were tiny, we were shorted spring rolls and dumplings.

Its great. You pick a broth then you can order from two different menu. All you can eat but you only have 2 hours. It was a bit busy and they didnt get everything we needed for our broth. Like we wanted 4 eggs and they gave us 2. We were 4 at 1 table so we had to wait. A while before getting our orders.

The food was mildly disappointing, though not awful. The service was terrible. At one point we went for 30 minutes without seeing the server at all. The dishes all had streaks and spots and just didn't seem clean. It was also pretty expensive. I wouldn't have minded the cost if the food and service was good, but in this case it just wasn't worth it.

The food is good for a buffet. It is and all you can eat restaurant and you have a lot of options there. You don't have choices on the drinks tho and the mood/decoration inside need a little revamp.

They give you a menu on which you have to tick mark what you want with the quantity you want, and the server will bring it to your table about 10 mins later (depending on how busy it is). We went there for lunch on Sunday and there were about 2-4 tables of guests and 1 server. So the service was ok. But we prefer the hot pot buffets where we walk up to stations and serve our self because it was abit hard to get a hold of the serving staff in this big restaurant.Also they had individual pots on individual stoves so its great for a group who don't like the big communal pot for the whole table.Highly recommend the beef bone broth - such a rich marrow flavor - we liked it so much that we asked the waiter if we could take the left over broth home (just broth, nothing else lol).Loved the mango icecream too!It costed us $23.99 per head excl tax (unlimited pop included)

First time at a hot pot place. Our server explained everything well and the food was great! Will go back for sure.Pick a broth and then order some soup fillings to cook. It's a lot tastier than expected and the leek sauce was amazing.I love spicy foods and got the original spicy broth and it was a little too hot for me. Still enjoyed it but it was intense!

Full disclosure that maybe I just don't like hot pot in general (so take my criticism with a grain of salt). Basically it's just boiled meat, bland vegetables, and some very mediocre/greasy dumplings + spring rolls. If that sounds like your cup of tea then by all means the staff were great and you should make up your own mind. However, the atmosphere needs some work and I'll second the other reviewer's warning about the staff and allergies, they're at best, mildly concerned with cross contamination.

Lacks service. The huge place was empty when we went at 5:30 and they had to turn on spme of the lights when we came in.Food was surprisingly bland for a hot pot place and the broth tasted like they came from packets (like instant ramen packs). The dipping sauces that were placed on our table were too cold and had thickened and trying to dip wasnt working. Felt like they just came oit of the fridge.The tables and chairs are also extremely awkward and uncomfortable. So little room from the table legs to the end of the table that you can't get close enough to eat comfortably. The tables for 2 are useless as the position of the burner and the small size of the tables leave you with no room to actually eat.We started off with a small selection and it got so bad we didnt bother getting more and just left. Its pretty bad to spend $70 on 2 people and walk away hungry from an all you can eat place because it was so bad you couldn't bring yourself to eat more.Its on Spring Garden Road (busiest street east of Quebec) and it was 5:30 so a prime location at a prime time... And we were literally the only people in the place. Speaks volumes and totally made sense. We should have seen that as a sign and went elsewhere.Worst birthday dinner ever. Will not be back. Go elsewhere.
