H.G. Thode Library of Science & Engineering | McMaster University Library | Thode Library holds the University Library's collections in science and engineering and has a wide variety of study spaces to meet your needs. Other amenities in the building include the Reactor Cafe (first floor) and the Thode Makerspace (lower level), and the Integrated Science program has a home on the third floor.

great library, open late hours, the café workers are so kind and genuinely make my day, only thing is the washroom on the first floor can be a bit nasty at times

Awesome place to study. There are 3 floors where you can study, if you need a lot of silence to study, there is a quiet area in the basement and small wooden cubby looking like seats around the edges main floor that are pretty quiet. Besides that the second floor has large cafeteria like tables, some couches and a place where you can buy snacks. The second floor is full of seating. The 2nd floor is my favourite spot to study because it isn't too loud or too quiet. Overall it's a really good library, way better than mills.

Thode is the best place to study on campus. If you need peace and quiet the silent area is excellent. If you're studying with friends upstairs has a lot of spots and lots of plug connections.

Really good place to study, only downside is after COVID they are not allowing anyone to use coffee machines and microwave.

Best library on campus. A rowdier second floor for group study sessions, a quieter first floor, and a silent study zone basement. There are also study rooms you can reserve, and it’s 24 hours during exams. All in all, great place to get stuff done and socialize as well.

I've come here many times to work on assignments and work in groups. I have a decent desk at home for solo work, but here I can sit down with some classmates and work out difficult assignments and projects together. It can get pretty full during some points of the year so get here early if you want a spot! If the main floor is too noisy, there are other quieter floors where the desks are more separated.
