The Forty Horizon Getaway

This place is the most relaxing place I have been!!! It is super clean, friendly staff, absolutely breathtaking, and definitely an authentic experience. A nice touch too was that we were greeted with chocolates and a bottle of nice wine. A must do experience! We also brought our two children there and they loved it!!! It was a one of a kind experience.

I can't recommend this place enough!The cottage is immaculate, and has everything you need. The bed has to be the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, such a great night sleep.The view of the lake is breath taking.It was a the perfect getaway with my husband. So peaceful and stress free.We look forward to staying here again in the near future!

I honestly don't know where to begin to describe the utter peace, beauty, and tranquility that The Forty Horizon Getaway offers! I had the absolute pleasure of relaxing here for a few hours during my stay at St. Esprit Wilderness cabins (also HIGHLY recommended!) because the host did not want me to have to wait for my cottage to be available. Amazing customer service and care all around that you will find nowhere else. Because of that short visit, I immediately booked a weekend along with other dates! The cottage itself is a magical experience. It is immaculately clean, tidy, gorgeously decorated, and has every possible amenity that you could think of. When you walk inside, you will feel like you are the first guests because of the newness and sheer cleanliness. You honestly need nothing other than your personal belongings and food. Christoph has put so much care, love, and vision into every single aspect..from the incredible private hot tub, the deck and outdoor shower, fire pit, and everything inside. It feels like home and it is the most relaxing and peaceful stay I have had anywhere. The bed and bedding feels like sleeping on a warm cozy fluffy cloud. The towels are soft and fluffy and abundant as well as bath robes and blankets being provided. There is no detail that has not been thought about here! Christoph is an incredibly responsive, receptive, polite and friendly host. His attention, care, and detail to providing you with the BEST possible (many treats included!) experience is unmatched as is the sheer beauty of this location. Christoph goes out of his way to make you feel like his MOST important, most valued guest from before your stay until checking in after to make sure that everything was perfect. I plan on visiting as often as I can and I am confident that every stay will far exceed my expectations as the past ones have. A truly exceptional, magical experience awaits you here along with the best customer service you have ever received. The Forty Horizon Getaway is Cape Breton's most shining hidden gem and I HIGHLY recommended checking it out. I promise you will not be disappointed. :)

This was my second visit to Forty Horizon Getaway and it was just as lovely as my first visit. The space is immaculate. The host is incredibly helpful and easy to contact. Really nice personal touches and very private! The beds are very comfortable; simply made with white linens but still very luxurious . The wifi also works very well and the hot tub and all premises are incredibly well maintained.

Such an amazing and much needed getaway! This beautiful place is equipped with absolutely everything you need. The little details were thoughtful and appreciated. Everything was spotless, it had comfortable furniture, a full kitchen, a big beautiful bathroom and all the wood detailing was beautiful! The owner is very good to deal with and was just a message away. The view was breathtaking and the private hot tub was an added bonus!! Will definitely recommend to friends and will be back in the near future!!

We had an amazing stay. They are very quick to answer back any questions I had. The hospitality was above and beyond my expectations. The cabin was spotless, beds were very comfy ( slept like a baby ).I would highly recommend staying, it’s quiet, relaxing and has a fantastic view !There is a near by hiking trail that leads to a waterfall, they provide free kayaks to use during your stay, and have outdoor fire pits.I will definitely be returning in the near future.Sincerely one happy guest !

Our stay at this beautiful cottage was amazing. Fantastic view on the lake while sitting in the hottub was exactly what I needed. Very clean and well maintained. Most definitely will be booking at this property in the future!

You’ve gotta stay here!! This cottage is perfect! From the moment you drive up and open the door you can feel the stress melt away. Everything was very clean and the woodwork throughout is gorgeous. Outside is a beautiful hot tub that is as close as possible to the lake! We will definitely be coming back for another stay!

Incredible one-night stay in February! Hot tub, sauna and fire pit were so comforting. All kinds of board games, toys for kids, etc. was a really nice touch. All sorts of dishes and cutlery for cooking. Comfy bed. Extremely quiet location! Host was very professional.
