Clean and nice to see a fillet table, garbage and hose to clean your catches, I was just not lucky enough to catch anything this time out.The only thing you need to remember if this is you first time out here, you need a separate fishing pass from the township to fish here

A little too busy and overfished for my liking. Very limited access to the river and around the salmon run (right now) it stinks to a disturbing degree. Plus side is I've had great conversations with some of the guys that fish it constantly and have learned a lot about fishing this area.

Cannot take my kids in my sports pal canoe at Don Ross park any more. I called the town of Essa and you need a parking pass but still you cannot launch a boat or canoe from the shoreline. If this is a Tourist attraction you would think you would be able to put a canoe in. I called the town of Essa and they tell me a canoe is still a boat. Some of us like to go for a canoe ride. No boat launching due to steep banks and what does that mean?What is next no fishing due to steep banks. Stay away from this place.

I just turned 17 and I have a younger brother who is 13. My Dad use to take us down the river in our canoe. I just got my G1 licence and was hoping to get my boat licence this summer so we both can take turns trolling lures down the river but it is very sad that there is no canoes to be launch. Now he decided not to support Don Ross Fishing Park and I guess I am the next generation and I am not supporting it either. My brother won't get to experience what I have experienced and felt more safe in our canoe than fishing along the river bank. He always paid his 40 dollar pass every year but not anymore.

Went for a river tour on my paddle board. It was quite muddy getting in and out so wear water shoes. The river is low in spots so prepare to push off the bottom and navigate fallen trees a few times. Saw tiny turtles, a blue heron, lots of interesting foliage.... Would I go again? Yes.
