Pelican Seafood Market & Grill
This was the #1 food joint I wanted to check out while visiting Ottawa. It definitely lived up to the hype! I grab a seat at the end of the bar and got to see all the delicious food coming out of the kitchen window. I enjoyed some cold beer and chowed down on a half dozen of fresh oysters, served with horseradish and mignonette. Irish Point, Beau Soleil and Malpeque, two of each. They were very good. Next was the main event, the Whole Lobster Poutine. It's even more incredible in person than in the photos and tasted even better. The lobster bisque as gravy is a nice twist on traditional gravy. I highly recommend this dish. However, when they say whole lobster, they, mean it. For those lobster fans who are not fond of the tomalley (the green stuff in the body cavity), you may want to avoid this dish, as it gets mixed in with the gravy and may leave an area of this dish unappetizing for you. A lot of people don't mind this though. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here and the woman serving me at the bar was really friendly and a joy to talk to. If I'm ever in town again, I'm definitely going to the order the fish and chips. I saw a few of those plates come out the kitchen window and they looked like the best fish and chips I've ever seen!

Visited the restaurant for the first time with a friend for a casual dining experience on a weekend and a reservation was required to get a spot. Service was nice and seafood was fresh and delicious. We ordered the $95 seafood tower and a 1 lb lobster poutine, which was a good amount of food to split between 2 people. The restaurant is great for families and couples with young children. There is also a seafood market to the side where people can buy fresh/ frozen seafood to cook at home. Overall, service was fast, friendly, and food was fresh, grade A quality and worth the value.

One of the best seafood restaurants I’ve been to in the country. No complaints, just good eats. They get quite busy and I advise booking ahead/reserving or you might be waiting to get in for a bit, but still worth the wait. The lobster was phenomenal along with the chowder and the oysters. The drinks were great too, loved the pelican Caesar!

The lobster dip was absolutely phenomenal and the best part of the entire meal. The crab was fresh and delicious and the lobster poutine was definitely something special. Worth every penny and also good for drinks and appetizers at happy hour!

Love this place!If I could give this restaurant more than 5-Stars I would.My husband and I have been coming here for years. The food, service and atmosphere is always excellent.They use great, high quality product for a delicious and creative menu. Their servers and staff are attentive, kind and always provide amazing service. Your food comes hot and fresh, and you never have to wait long, even when the restaurant is busy (which it often is).The market attached to the restaurant is also a huge bonus, and offers lots of delicious fresh seafood and pre-prepared snacks and meals.My favourite restaurant in Ottawa, bar none! Highly recommend you try this spot if you like seafood, a friendly atmosphere and great service.

Fresh seafood. Large/decent size portions. So much flavour. Great prices. I come here to eat at the restaurant and for the fresh smoked seafood in the market (smoked salmon is my fave) every time I’m in Ottawa. If you love fresh seafood you have to come here you will not be disappointed. This time around I tried the lobster spaghetti and it was SO good. So much flavour and fresh lobster chunks.

One of our favorite places to visit in Ottawa.Service and food is always impeccable and on point.Oysters were so fresh you don’t even need sauce with it or lemon and they were included in the happy hour along the jumbo shrimps.Clam chowder is always amazing and the lobster roll was to die for. Perfect balance of flavors and spices in everything.Can’t wait to be back.Highly recommended

This place is fabulous! The server was so kind and informative about the menu and the business in general. The owners have wonderful staff and according to staff they take such good care of them they have no desire to work anywhere else. I love supporting a business like this that understands how important people are. And the food shows the love...I got the Lobster Poutine and it was absolutely the best thing I've tasted in a long time. See pic..absolutely beautiful. Will definitely be back! And before you leave check out their seafood store!
