Great customer service!!! She answered all my questions thoroughly and helped me pick out the perfect fish and decorations. Even spent 5 minutes catching a specific fish out of a tank of over 50 others. Very friendly, fast and knowledgeable. I cant express enough how gentle she was too!! HIGHLY reccomend Animal Ark.

First time visiting the store. No one greeted or said a word to me. Says online this location sells Nutrience brand but I did not see it on the shelf and I wasn’t offered help.

Few days ago I bought bed raw at this store. Was changing over to a raw and the lady in store seemed to be very informed. Bought the beef, started feeding very small amount, only got through one brick of food when in middle of Thursday night just passed, she was up and throwing up. This continued and Saturday morning after her not eating or drinking took my dog to the vet. She has a high fever, on antibiotics, shot for throwing up, water injected under her skin. The meat I bought was contaminated. The lady in the store said we sell this all the time. That may be but the food you sold me was contaminated and made her sick. $200 vet bill right before Christmas. She said, can’t authorize giving you a refund , the owner is out shopping. I gave her the food, told her not only was it not fit for human consumption, not fit for dogs either! Don’t care about the $21 , I care about my dog and every other one too.

Love coming here to get pigs ears for my dogs, switched it up last time and asked for a hand on something that will last longer for our senior dog...I was helped right away and with kindness, the dogs love them! thank you

We have had bad luck with going to the store and it being closed during opening hours. We have been buying our raw dog food from Comox because we can’t guarantee it will be open. We live at the lake and can’t make multiple trips in. Disappointing because we want to support local businesses.Edit: my husband and I didn’t check instagram. It is posted there. That’s on us!

Great place. Allowed to bring my dog. The lady that worked there was great with Q&A and giving options. Spoiled our girl with Lovins and treats.They were low/no stock for what I went for, but customer service was above and beyond and Trixie had a blast.

Close to home so on a walk I went in with my pup; got a rope leash with a slip collar & treats. My dog was overstimulated so I was not paying enough attention to the charges. Afterwards I realized I paid $56 for the rope leash, 3 X what the other pet store sells then for! Attended store with item and after trying to tell me I must have grabbed a “special order” (they still had 4 on shelf for same price) and then being told other store was American (it’s not-it’s also local owned & operated) I was offered no resolution except “sorry”. I couldn’t even return as I didn’t have the original receipt, only the charge showing on my online banking and their memory of me making the purchase. If you shop here, pay very close attention to what you are being charged for and get & keep your receipts. I stupidly made another purchase during this last interaction of trying to rectify the over charge on the rope leash, I guess I was trying not to look like an jerk & also giving them an opportunity to give me a break on this purchase since they were unwilling to correct charging me $56 for something I could have got for $18. It will be my last

Not much selection. Prices are quite high too

It's a bit pricey for items. It is the only one in Port Alberni that has live feeder crickets. The owner is very accommodating in ordering live feeders. the owner is super awesome to ensure that you receive live feeders still live.
