Looks like there are some fake reviews on here.Anyone giving this more than 3 stars is used to eating very poorly or are the owners using fake accounts.This place used to be great until the last year or so. Now it's obvious that they're cutting corners. To the point where I wouldn't eat there for safety/hygiene reasons.Message To Owners: cutting quality is a bad business decision.This place was built up over years with good food, service and cleanliness. You've destroyed that in less than a year.I'm torn between feeling bad for you and being angry with you.I will NEVER return.

Very disappointed to find doors locked (apparently by landlord) when we went for weekly lunch as we have been doing for years. I do hope they come to a satisfactory arrangement and manage to continue operation (though being so far back from Kingston Road is a rather hidden location for a restaurant). To me, it is the best buffet restaurant in Ajax, has become almost a second home, with a very friendly staff and a great and well prepared selection of good food. (And it is by far the most affordable restaurant for seniors living on small pensions!) I do hope they manage a comeback and stay open as they certainly deserve to.

The food here is really terrible. It's not only really stale, the food just has terrible flavour. Even the lettuce in the salad bar was wilting. And for $31/person, it actually makes me mad. I've had a lot of Asian buffets for less and they were 10x better and fresher. I can't say it was all bad, the dessert was okay (not great) and the servers were nice. But seriously, for that price, I urge people to look elsewhere.

The absolute worst Chinese food experience I have ever experienced. Went on a Saturday night at 5:30, which you think would be prime time for dinner. Parking lot was not busy which should have been a good indicator as to how times have changed for this restaurant. Food was cold, tasteless and far from fresh. Meat dishes tasted like they were cooked days ago and just reheated as needed. Shrimp tasted off. $67.00 for 2 people. Left hungry. Management's response was we will give you a two for one coupon. I will never go back.Save your money.

Absolutely horrible!! Our first time and most certainly our last time!! All the food tasted off or just completely horrible. You know it's bad when your 5 year old won't eat anything - not even french fries or desserts! And then the wait staff we had, never once came back to offer us a drink or to see how our meal was. What a complete waste of money!!! When asked how our meal was and we told them - there was no attempt to make things right or even an apology. Stay away from this place!! Total disappointment!!

Pretty much agree with the other reviews. First time going - went for lunch. Arrived about 40 minutes after opening, but there were basically only french fries, pizza, spring rolls, chicken balls and a few salad items available. More food slowly started appearing, dish by dish, around 12:30. Seriously, don't open, if you're not going to be prepared. Food was all pretty much lukewarm, which made it a little unappetizing, along with the few fruit flies constantly buzzing our table. By the time we left about 1:45pm, selection looked pretty normal, and maybe I'd have given them three stars, at most. Do NOT go if you don't have the coupons! Wait staff were efficient and polite, but they all kind've looked unhappy.

This afternoon I decided to take my father out to lunch at Imperial Buffet Ajax.Upon arrival the hostess was rude. When i told her i had a coupon she rolled her eyes and told me that i had to buy a drink with my meal (which was fine) and handed us off to another lady to seat us.The next lady took us to a crowded room, showed us to our table and then left.When we went to get out food we noticed that a lot of the food looked dried up and picked over.We picked what we wanted and when we were eating noticed the quality of the food was disgusting. I could have made better at home from a freezer meal.The desserts were all melted and smashed together, we had to beg for a refill on water and it took forever to get our bill.We are throughly disappointed with our visit and will never recommend this place to anyone.we paid $24.00 for two meals (one was free) that were disgusting. I cannot believe how far this place has gone down hill.

I am very disappointed! Has there been a change in ownership? The crab legs, they only had cold ones, and they were water logged. No Dim Sum, roast beef was too rare to chew, and I am a medium rare person! No General Tso chicken. And the desserts are down to 1/3 of what they use to be, especially custard a cheap dessert! For a Friday night at 5:45 the place was half empty, So I guess it will be somewhere else because at $29.99 a plate it was not a treat and as I said very disappointing. It use to be the number one place for our family, especially groups for special occasions.

When this place first opened the food choice and quality was excellent. However, in the last while it has gone downhill. The food choice and quality is terrible. The food was stale and cold. As an example the roast beef was so rare and stringy that we were unable to cut it with our knives. The chicken balls were burnt and not edible. I cannot recommend this place even if you have a 2 for 1 coupon. Worst restaurant I have ever visited. Will never go back.

Imperial Buffet
This place was good in the beginning. They used to have hot crab legs everyday and a wide variety of delicious food.The last few times I went recently the food was sub par and no hot crab legs.The variety is gone so you now have less selection than any other buffet.
