Vancouver Telescope Centre

The staff at Vancouver Telescope Centre are really knowledgeable and not pushy at all. I walked in the store one day just looking for information about telescopes without any commitment to purchase anything, and they actually took their time to tell me about the different types of telescopes, what things you can see with a telescope, and even where to go to get the greatest views in the area. The store is not massive but they have some telescopes on the shop floor to look at and are able to order in a particular model you’re looking for if not in stock. Since it's an actual storefront, you don't have to worry about buying questionable items off Craigslist or getting stuck with an item you bought online that's not to your expectations. If you buy a telescope at VTC and it's not to your liking you can just bring it right back in and they'll help you find the right one.At VTC they are people driven. They excel and focus on human interaction by helping the individual find the right scope for them. Even if they think they don’t have a scope suitable to your needs, they’ll be honest and tell you. Their service is second to none and they stand behind the products they sell by providing repair and maintenance services for telescopes (If I recall repairs are free for their warranty period and after that for a small fee) versus some of the other retailers that will tell you to contact the manufacturer. Post-sale service is great as well, as they encourage and are happy to answer inquiries via store visits or on the phone.I'm actually really glad that I made the trip to the store for my first telescope; had I not, I would have fallen victim to marketing and purchased a telescope (an entry level scope that will remain nameless) that would have left me sorely disappointed and perhaps turned off of astronomy all together. In fact, as I was leaving the store, I asked about said scope and they explained to me its shortcomings, and while they will sell it for those who adamantly want one, they strongly advised against it.

So far at VANCOUVER TELESCOPE CENTER I have had nothing but great service. Experienced, knowledgeable, friendly, generous and willing to help you make the best decision. I have nothing bad to say about the service and experience there.

Great place to purchase Binoculars and telescopes. Owner and sales staff are very passionate and they extremely friendly. That don't oversell and really listen to ones needs. They will spend time with you so if your in a hurry be prepared.

Forgot to purchase a piece needed to attach our camera (canon rebel t5i) to our telescope (celestron nexstar 6SE) before leaving on our honeymoon from Toronto to Western Canada. Bought the piece which worked perfectly. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable even though the store had a few customers. We asked if they sold through screws to lock lenses and such in place and they gave us a screw free of charge from some extras they had, they were life savers :) thank you so much guys

I'm fairly new to the star gazing world, I've gone to them a few times in the past, my last visit I was expecting to dive right into the expensive 2 world of deep sky viewing with just my one and only telescope

I've been a regular customer for the last ten years or so and strongly recommend their knowledge and good advice to beginners up to experts. Both Harout and Nick are very good people.

I have to say working with Vancouver Telescope Center was a breath of fresh air. I purchased a refractor telescope and some accessories for my new hobby. With the help of Harout, a smart choice was made. The most amazing thing was I received the telescope the same day. I do live locally and this may not be possible for others out of town but still incredibly impressive. Customer service is bar none. VTC now has a new customer for years to come. Bought a PST solar telescope for the total eclipse in Indonesia last March from Harout. Got wonderful shots but only because he was kind enough to send me a missing barlow arriving just days before the event. Hats off to their customer service! Will now buy a double stack filter from them for the ecplise in Aug 2017
