McCarthy Place Retirement Residence

McCarthy Place is excellent. My mother moved in yesterday and was welcomed by friendly staff and residents. The suites are lovely and the amenities and activities are varied, with something for everyone. We look forward to many happy retirement years for Margaret. McCarthy Place is one of the best Retirement homes around, reading through others reviews everyone else seems to agree. I had a friend of mine live at McCarthy Place and I must say that the staff are very caring people. I provide 2 stars for this building as I’m not fond of the Executive Director, he should feel very lucky to have the staff he does.

McCarthy Place has been an incredible place for our mother to move this Fall before the winter weather moved in. She is still in good health and just wanted more people around, especially when the weather makes Canadians housebound. She has come to know the staff and residents quickly, and she really likes the routines and opportunities to get together with people. There are coffee socials, the meal routines, and other activities that she really enjoys.The McCarthy staff have been extremely helpful at every stage in the process. From our early visits to make a decision, during the time on the waiting list as we prepared for her move-in, to the furniture move-in day and the day of Mom's first sleep they were always providing reassurance, ideas, and encouragement.

As part of the team at McCarthy Place Retirement our #1 priority is the comfort and well being of each Resident. The team at all levels is hard working, pleasant, caring and approachable. This home is family oriented and it shows through the smiling faces of residents and staff! I am blessed to be a part of this family!

Beautiful retirement residence. The staff are always helpful and caring to the residents and to the care givers. It is always a pleasure to visit our patients at McCarthy place. The activity director Nikki is always very personable and helpful. She is excellent at connecting and engaging residents with essential services. I would definitely recommend McCarthy place and can't say enough about their staff.

I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the staff and management at McCarthy and I have to say they are the friendliest bunch I have ever met. Always a smile, always helpful. The facility is beautiful with a lot of open space and amazing views. Love this place!

The place is clean and well kept though my grandmother does have some complaints!

McCarthy Place has proven to be the right choice for our mother. The staff are consistently friendly, attentive and compassionate; they greet each resident by name which is amazing considering there are well over 100 seniors. The meals are excellent and the myriad of activities keep our mom engaged and active.

I'm the Lifestyle Director at McCarthy Place. Today I post my comments and 5 stars even though you might think that would be biases. I post to acknowledge the best staff around. There's 5 main departments that keep the building safe, fun and flourishing. When you come in your greeted by the front desk and office staff. The office staff are patient, kind, listen so they can be helpful. The building offers 3 meals a day from the wonderful team in the kitchen. They're bright vibrant and full of energy. Keen attention is considered in everything they do. Wellness is served with kindness and caring from the Nursing department. They care after everyone's individual needs in a manner that best suits that resident. Maintaining a building is no easy task yet our building maintenance manager with his housekeepers keep everything clean. You see them cleaning door handles and light switches. I swear they must have magic wands they way they keep everything so clean. Lastly activities a department of one with the heart of many enriching the staff and residents lives. Yes I might be biases but it's these wonderful people who make my job easier. I just had to share how truly blessed I am for that. They say it doesn't matter where you are but the company you keep. The mindset of those around you can make anything brighter. McCarthy certainly shines brighter on the darkest days because of these wonderful people.
