The Ottawa Mission

Be careful of a guy who works there his name is Andrew (he is Asian) he has no business working there as he is super rude and unprofessional , I do genuinely believe he is racist and it’s jus beyond the pale

Some of the kindest people I have ever met. The driver I relied on, to drive me back home, left me stranded downtown. I had no money, and no one to call for help. I walked to the mission, they were beyond kind, everyone that spoke to me was so nice, they even gave me a water bottle likely because I was extremely anxious, and overwhelmed. They got me a taxi voucher, and I got home safe. Words can't express my gratitude. Thank you so much.

I thought any christian charity Center would be more humanitarian but I guess I was wrong . The administration at the Ottawa mission have a racist mentality. It’s only from the outside that you see nice characters but once you get to communicate with the HR office at the Ottawa mission,you will know how racist they are toward other nationalists. Such a shame

5 star meals, was surprised with the quality.If I am staying in Ottawa again I will definitely be booking here.Although my kids did not enjoy the accommodations. Only real con was no Indoor pool and having to leave my room at seven for a bed check, general population was a little crowded.Overall positive experience.

Why so many female staff in an all male shelter? Never see men in an all female shelter. And overly strict here, the way it is run. Demanding some to sign legal papers, others to go on welfare right away. This is a public funded shelter. Not the staff and CEO private residence.

Do not support the Ottawa mission. They are mostly a bunch of liars pretending to be a Christian organisation that cares about homeless people but are just soulless individuals with neither the life experience, training nor empathy required to deal with vulnerable people.It's supposed to be a men's only shelter like they advertise to society but half the staff are power-hungry, unhappy women who come here looking for projects to rescue (vulnerable men to further break down) or men to breakdown for their entertainment.These people, including their prized addictions and trauma specialists are here for the paycheck and reputation they tend to gain for helping the poor. They don't care about you because you're just another number.Don't believe it? Spend a night in here yourself or better yet, ask for the oral testimony of the current residents if they're willing to open up. It's an open secret amongst the residents what happens here. It's a big scam operation.Do not support!!!!

just be careful with privacy issues.. the legality is so clear that this place cannot take your personal info.... AT ALL! but they say if you don't give it up? You cannot stay.. nice eh?

Who ever is answering your phone needs a hearing aid and to stop repeating herself and actually listen to what the person on the other end is saying. It like you trained her but only gave her 1 line

The ppl they have operating the truck are racists and bigotts that think it's ok to abuse and put down there clients and some of them have used the words stupid cracker along with other words, the office thinks this is ok.......
