Hollywood Toy & Poster Company

I’ve purchased two items from the good people at Hollywood toy and poster and couldn’t be happier with the products and service. In fact I have the giant Ironman funko displayed here at the gym and couldn’t be more pleased!

As a huge Funko collector, this place was super cool to check out. Their selection is stellar, and they only carry exclusives that are hard to get ahold of in Canada. When I first heard through social media that they were opening a brick and mortar store and would take preorders for Funko products, I was stoked as I thought this would be a great way to secure those hard to get exclusives. I was disappointed with the preorder process though. There was a post for an exclusive I was interested in that said they were taking reservations, but no info as to how to reserve. I messaged the store and was told to etransfer $10 as a deposit, and stating which pop I was reserving, with my email and phone number so I could be notified when it arrived. I also had to ask about when it was expected to arrive, as the post didn’t state that either. A little while after it was expected to arrive, I hadn’t received any email or phone call (I checked my spam folder and voice mails as well), so I contacted the store again and was told that the product had arrived and was already waiting for me to pick up. When I did go to pick it up, the $10 deposit wasn’t taken off of the total price of the pop like I thought it’d be, but I suppose that’s my fault for not checking ahead of time. They also don’t have the prices on any of the pops. The owner said most of them are $30 or $35, which is reasonable. I ended up getting two pops, plus the one I preordered, and made the mistake of not checking ahead of time about the prices on any of them. After checking my receipt, I noticed that only the pop I preordered was $35, and the other two were $40 and $55. I did get a bit of a discount for getting more than two, according to the owner, but I wish there was more transparency around the pricing. Over all it’s a great store and I’ll probably go back at some point, but there are maybe some kinks that still need to be worked out as they are still pretty newly opened.

Great place! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. If your thing is Funco Pops, movie posters, Starwars stuff or other collectables, I'd recommend checking it out.

Good selection of posters and prints. On top of that the owner is a great guy, I could talk to him for hours.I would highly recommend taking the time to check this place out.
