This is a really good school if you want to learn french and talk fluently. It has very good teachers, most of them which talk at least 4 languages (even russian!). The ambient is cool, relaxed and you will meet people from all around the world. Also if you have a letter of your employer the cost is around 80CAD (very good for the amount of lecture hours). It is well communicated as it has good combination with several buses passing through Papineau and Sherbrooke.

A good place to study French if you're permenant resident or Canadian. It would be almost free. But if you're in the process of obtaining your permenant resident. Don't start your course here yet! Wait until you have the PR. Most of teachers here are really helpful and knowledgeable. I do learn a lot here. Recommended to everyone who's willing to learn French.

Nobody answers the phone. You leave a voicemail and never get a callback. They have no availability for booking appointments. I don’t understand how they have good reviews?

Unsure how people are able to get appointments to register for classes. I emailed and was told by Nathalie Louissaint that the appointments open on April 17th. I've tried to make an appointment on the website everyday for 2 weeks now and I continue to get the no appointments available for the next 12 months" message. I've even called a few times. Sent another email and was told appointments would open up this past Friday

Not the best school. I don't know how they cannot have air conditioning for the student. It gets so hot during the summer and it exhausts you. The teachers are nice and gives you enough resources.

I will recommend this school for anyone who is serious about learning French! I have learnt France in 3 different organizations previously but the teacher I had here (Amelie) is arguably one of the best language teachers I have ever come across.I went from not being able to comprehend any spoken French to being able to hold a conversation with a stranger in less than 3 months!

This school deals more with forced assimilation into the Francophone culture and language. It does teach correct French but concentrates too much on making students from other countries forget about their cultures. Some of these teachers are racist, xenophobic, and Islamophobic as well. The directress did not punish or fire a teacher for her anti-Semitic comments during one class I attended. It is also anti-gay and one of the trans students attending had to face on a day-to-day basis, inappropriate comments and the teachers refused to call her by her rightful name. In all, I decided to quit sooner than I wanted to.

At Centre Lartigue I took one level of French Lessons after recently moving to Montreal. I was building off of many years of French classes but had a lot of difficulty in general with oral comprehension. My teacher was very friendly and helpful. The class was generally interested in learning the content. I had two main problems with the program. The first problem was, even though I was well placed in level 5, the course was very slow paced. I often found myself in need of more work to occupy myself and actually use the entire time I had in class. My second main problem was there was not enough emphasis on oral communication. Most of the situations I need French for are for verbal interactions, so this is the area I wish we could have focused on more. I felt in the few instances where we did get to talk, there wasn't much correction or opportunity for improvement.Overall I had a solid experience here. It's incredibly affordable, I was able to review my previous French lessons (which was important because I was out of practice), and I was able to learn a lot of Quebec culture and slang.
