TTL Makerspace

The TTL Makerspace is an awesome place to do 3D printing. We did a six week course here and learned a ton! The community that it houses is welcoming and creative. If you're in the neighbourhood, stop by!

This place is AWESOME. It reminds me of what a nonprofit Tech Shop would look like (and I looooved Tech Shop, for those who never spent any time in the Bay Area in the US).They have laser cutters, 3D printers, a full woodshop, and a giant CNC router that can work on an entire 4x8 sheet of plywood. For full membership at $88/month, it's an awesome value.I took the makerspace's woodshop certification this weekend with Jenn, who was an AWESOME teacher: informative, funny, and engaging. I've used all of the tools she trained us on, but I don't think anybody had ever taken the time to carefully explain them to me. And she is obviously the voice of experience: she told so many little stories along the way to illustrate her points, and that really helped me make sense of why she was saying the things she did.I'm signed up for the CNC training in February - it's a six week class that teaches everything from CAD for CNC to machine safety and operation. Will make a point of coming back after that class and updating this review. But I am SUPER happy with my membership and experience so far.

The Makerspace is a wonderful community service. I have used the workshop and extensive selection of tools to complete dozens of projects that I could never have started in my apartment. If I am not at home you will probably find me in the Makerspace.

Amazing staff, amazing equipment and amazing community! I've finished projects here that I never could imagine doing as an international student - I would highly recommend going here and joining the community if you are a crafty individual

Great space for creating and learning. Ideal for those with limited space and equipment. Easy to get to by TTC.

The TTL Makerspace is a fantastic gem in the middle of downtown Toronto. For a city dwelling maker, this is a dream to be able to have access to a full wood shop for a small monthly fee after a quick orientation/certification course. Further certification courses open up a world of possibilities with access to a full-sheet CNC mill, laser cutters, 3D printers, and lathes! There is also classes for leatherwork, sewing, pen making, bowl turning, and everything else under the sun. The equipment and classes are great, but that's not the best thing. The TTL Makerspace is also a community of like-minded, friendly people. From the excellent instructors to sharing tips and tricks with fellow makers, the place feels like home. Come join us, and share your projects. It is a ton of fun!
