Sharp and straight to the point owner that has been hard working and serving people for 35 years. Strata-Gym is iconic at this point. People that think the owner is rude clearly never tried going to Schwartz and telling the 2 guys making the smoked meat sandwiches behind the counter that they are not sure of what they want to order while there is people waiting in line. Also people who claim that you can find equipement for cheaper are probably talking about Canadian tire. In the current situation where gyms have closed , got closed again and might stay close for a while and huge popular providers like Rogue Fitness have been totally out of stock and not even able to serve people Strata-Gym kept its prices the same and didn't even take advantage of the situation. Respect always attracts respect.

In this current time, we should all help good small businesses. Thus, why I decided to support Strata Gym. They have the best place for dumbbells and plates. The owner gives great service and is straight to the point.

I popped in to buy a foam roller and ended up having a great and insightful conversation that made me feel much more at ease about jumping back into training after several years off. Peter was a treat to talk to and helped me get going on the right path. If your looking for a fitness spot that treats you well no matter where you are in your training, Peter is your guy.

Very rude owner, did not wear mask.When asked how much an item was he glared and decided to get into an argument. About “could you not wait?” Then proceeds to say it’s 1.99 a pound as we left the store.Will not be returning do not recommend anyone else goes.Buy your equipment online, can be found for cheaper and with better customer service.If it was possible to no star I definitely would.Do not recommend unless you are looking to argue.

Since gyms have closed due to this pandemic . I believe it is very important to still stay active in order to maintain a healthy mental state. So I took it upon myself to set myself up a little gym at home, after a lot of shopping around I noticed most equipment is completely sold out everywhere and even people are charging a ridiculous prices. I started to lose hope until I came to strata gym found everything I was looking for for a great price , the gentlemen who served me was very nice and helpful , he took his time to answer all my questions and guide me to choose the right equipment for my needs . happy I found this place and definitely recommend

If you enjoy customer service efforts based on good old fashioned social and racial profiling without knowing who their customers are, this might be the place for you. Otherwise, go support and spend your money at other businesses who are living with the times and respect potential customers.Re: response from owner.Any downtown Montreal business can claim having a multicultural clientele. Keeping it is another story, and after 2020 you need to do better.

I love this place. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to get in shape and to get the best price on the market. The owner is really awesome and helpful, they make you feel really comfortable. Thanks for the great service.

Lots of quality products! I was able to find one of the cleanest proteins in the market and the service is top notch. Pierre takes time to discuss with the client, understand his/her needs and advise accordingly. Great experience overall.

DO NOT GO HERE!My husband and I are setting up a home gym and wanted to support a local Montreal company so we went to Strata-Gym. The man (perhaps the owner?) that greeted me was extremely rude, assumed that as a woman all I would need were the 5lbs and 20lbs plates that he had left and responded with exasperation to every one of my questions as if my mere presence was bothersome to him.My husband approached the entrance and the man said to wait outside as he was one person above capacity due to Covid, which he was happy to respect. I joined him outside to wait because I was still hoping to shop local. We had come for approximately $1000-$1500 worth of items depending on availability.The man then proceeded to remove his mask down under his chin while he processed payment for the customer directly in front of him. He then came outside and said to us and others that were waiting that he would be back soon. My husband asked how long the wait would be and he replied with, I'm taking the weights to this customers car! IS THAT ALRIGHT?" to which we replied that we were asking a reasonable question. He replied again raising his voice asking if he had our permission to do so. It was outrageous. We said he was being rude and he said that he would not sell anything to us.We then found another local Montreal company

Not a fan of that place.Owner refused to wear a maskBravo!And double the price of what it is worth.Prefer Decathlon 100 timesGet real.To answer you, I went twice to your store, 2nd time, no one in your store was wearing a mask, you are just against mask obviously, assume your decision. And no, you never offer to wear a mask.It's because of people like you, that gym, restaurant, and bar had to close again.
