A few months ago, I went to pick up a parcel that was sent to my wife's name using Canada Post's flex delivery service. There were two people at the counter; one of them claimed to be the manager, while the other one was a new employee. Most probably, one of the computers was down. I had been waiting for a couple of minutes when I noticed the manager just standing there. When I went to pick up the item, I realized that there might not be a need to use the computer, so I tried to attract her attention by saying that I had come to pick up the package. Almost immediately, she displayed her anger toward me and asked me why I was ignoring the fact that one computer was down. Then, after about a half an hour had passed, it was my turn. I presented my identification, but the address listed on it was not same as the package. It seems like, she found me in a perfect position to harassed me, as she quickly informed me that she is unable to hand over the package to me. She suggested that I either change the address on my ID or bring my wife with me to pick up the package. I told her that we had only recently relocated here, and my wife could not come since we do not have a car and there is nowhere for our three children to stay while we are gone. She replied that she is unable to do anything. On the other hand, if I want to modify the address listed on my identification, it will take at least three weeks to complete the process. I asked her once again if there were any other options, but she said there weren't any. My last try was to show her my CRA (Canada revenue agency) documents from my phone to proof of my residence address, but she stated that she cannot even accept this. After that, I went back home and started looking for any other possible solutions on the Canada Post website. I discovered that the procedures are really simple. I am just copying and pasting it below:On behalf of someone else or home-based businessAt the same address.Acceptable government-issued photo ID that shows you have the same address as the address on the itemDo not live at the same addressOne piece of acceptable government-issued photo ID and one of the following:Delivery notice card signed by the addressee and with your name listed as the authorized individual.Letter of authorization or legal document (such as a power of attorney) demonstrating your authority to act on the addressee’s behalf."According to above rules
