Dr. Andrew Sweet is a wonderful dentist. He is extremely professional, kind and knowledgeable. He helped correct something wrong with my teeth that other dentists I had previously seen were unable to correct. I am VERY happy with my teeth and smile now and would recommend anyone to join this practice :)

Dr. Sweet and the entire staff at Peninsula Dental are super friendly, welcoming, professional, and the absolute BEST EVER!! I was shocked that they even remembered me after only my first visit. I always highly recommend them to everyone I know. They have a special way of making you feel comfortable even if you're not a fan of going to the dentist, and they continually tell you every step of the procedure that is being performed.I've had dentist anxiety since I was a child, but no longer since being a patient of Peninsula Dental. I've ALWAYS disliked the needles used for freezing so much so that I used to not even go to see a dentist because it scared me to death, well, no longer because they are magicians when it comes to administering the freezing agent...thank you so much for that Peninsula Dental. It's sort of funny that during my last visit, I almost convinced myself that I should start slacking off on my dental hygiene just so I could visit more often...but please, don't do that because it wouldn't be smart to do and the staff would certainly frown on such an idea and convince you otherwise.Seriously though, do yourself a favor and call them to book an appointment...I promise you that you won't regret it.Once again, thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart to the entire staff for removing my fear of visiting the dentist...you truly are the absolute BEST at what you do. Keep up the great work, and Happy Holidays to every one of you.

I have a physical disability and being new to the community called two other dental offices prior to finding this gem. The other two were not willing to work to accommodate my need for help in and out of chair.Pennisula instantly made me feel at ease from initial phone call to every appointment. Dr. Sweet and staff explain every step and very quickly put me at ease.

What a great experience - the professionalism and friendliness of the whole team is outstanding! In my experiences, Dr. Sweet is honest, straight forward and very knowledgeable. I appreciate the time he takes to research, plan and present me (and my family) with options. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Burns has been my husband's and my dentist for a number of years and has provided us with first-class dental care. He is also a specialist in restorative/cosmetic dentistry and did a spectacular job in giving me a new smile two years ago. I should have had orthodontic work as a child and was always bothered by my crooked teeth and uneven bite. As a retirement gift to myself, I had Dr. Burns give me some crowns and veneers and was absolutely delighted with the result. He also adjusted my bite so that I no longer have jaw pain. Amazingly, the extensive work I had done was virtually pain free. As well as being an excellent dentist, he is a caring professional, and strives to ensure that his patients are pleased with his work. His staff is excellent as well, both in the office and chair side. Elaine, his main assistant, is extremely competent and a calming presence. Without a doubt, he is the best dentist I've ever had.

I hadn't gone to the dentist for years prior to Peninsula Dental. I had had poor experiences in the past and no one in my family had any good recommendations until my partner suggested Peninsula Dental, Dr. Sweet and the rest of the team. She was right, I haven't felt this comfortable at a dentist for a long time. I'm not nervous when I go here because I know the team is so good at what they do. Extremely polite, friendly, and clear on what's happening. I used to dread going to the dentist, but not anymore!

Beware. Over three years ago, after my initial exam, Sweet told me I had a cracked molar that had a suspected infected root canal and needed to be extracted immediately. As well as another one or two possible root canal infections. He insisted I immediately go to his recommended specialist , who charged me over double, and in one case, four times the BC Dental Association recommended fees to 'verify' the crack and infections. Here’s the thing: shortly before moving to BC, my previous EXCELLENT dentist of 30 years, had done a complete checkup with digital x-rays, noting ZERO issues. So I was understandably hesitant to have one or more extractions based on Sweet's opinion. When I dragged my feet to schedule the extraction, he would repeatedly CALL me to ask why I had not made an appointment. I told him that since I had no symptoms, no hot/cold sensitivity, aches, etc., I would rather not make a hasty decision to lose a couple of molars. After multiple calls, he gave me an ultimatum : schedule the extractions or he would rather not have me as a client. He essentially fired me.Update: recently, I got a good recommendation of a dentist in Victoria who could take me on as a patient. I scheduled an appointment for a cleaning and initial exam. Several dozen digital images later, he pronounced my teeth in exceptional condition. No cracks, no infections. The slight shadowing noticeable in a couple of root canals x-rays he said was due to scar tissue, not infection. So after over three years since Sweet's grim diagnosis of urgent surgery, I have yet to experience a single symptom. And now I know why. There is nothing wrong with my teeth. I am so glad I hesitated to follow his advice, and very happy to have been fired by Peninsula Dental. My opinion? Stay away from Peninsula Dental and Dr. Sweet.

I would recommend this practice to absolutely anyone looking for a new dentist. Dr. Sweet and Dr. Burns are both knowledgeable and friendly, the same can be said for the fantastic receptionist and Hygienist (January 11th 2021). I have never felt pressured or like I was being lectured to while in the chair. Dr. Sweet is extremely sincere and has always taken the time to answer my questions and explain what the available options are. I used to really hate going to the dentist, this practice has alleviated those concerns entirely. Don’t bother going anywhere else!

Went to this office as an emergency patient. They worked me in the same day, then tracked down a lab to solve my problem right before a long weekend. All staff were very friendly. Wonderful view of trees from 2nd floor windows. Easy parking with an elevator.
