Mega Centre Montreal (Pépinière Gentile)

I was on my quest to find perennial (vivace) plants that gives the most value for money, as the plants regrow every spring.This brought me to Mega Centre Montreal (Pépinière Gentile) and I was impressed with the size of the place and variety of plants, herbs and trees. I showed Graciella, who was busy looking after the garden centre, a list of edible perennial plants & herbs and without hesitation, she knew most of them and helped identifying and choosing these plants below:Mushroom herb (Plante champignon). It is a leafy green plant with a crisp texture like spinach with a distinctive taste of Mushroom that can be eaten raw in a salad, sandwich or in a pasta sauce.Lemon Balm (mélisse) is a member of the mint family that grows bushy and can become invasive. The leaves have a pleasant lemon smell used in herbal tea.Spear mint (menthe verte). This is my favourite of all the mints, as it has a delicate sweet taste used in cooking. It helps alleviate symptoms of nausea and indigestion.Lovage (Livèche) tastes like celery with undertones of parsley and a hint of anise. The name is derived from “Love ache”, and adds delicious ways to be used in the kitchen.Ginger mint (menthe gingembre) has a spicy scent with a hint of ginger and has many culinary uses. It is primarily sweet with the familiar cooling effect of mint.Nasturtium (Capucine) is an easy to grow flower, adds bright colours to your dish as beautiful decoration and fully edible. The leaves have watercrest-like flavours.Will come back again.

Parking during peak time is chaos. Great selection but higher priced than the other suppliers.... Perhaps overhead justifies it...but then I hear their employees don't get paid on a timely manner. Apparently they are too busy & overwhelmed=disorganized. You would figure after 3 generations they would have got the hang of it.

Two years ago I bought 3-4 tons of limestones for my patio. I chose my two palettes of white big pieces of stones at the store and was waiting to bring it to my address. Ten days later my pallets was left on the street, but only on top of them I recognize my big white stones chosen from me at the store. The rest of the stones was complete garbage. I call the store and spoke with the manager and they let me turn back on the street more than a half of the stones and promised to send me bigger ones. Compare to the stones I turn back, yes they were bigger, but the quality was chipper and two years later they start degrading and chipping off. I am very disappointed, but I learn my lesson. Don’t trust them and be sure you will receive the product you choose and pay for it.

Very friendly service! This family owned business take great care of their customers and have a wide variety of products to choose from. I especially loved their outdoor decor section - they have very on trend items!

very disappointed in the salesman frank. He couldn't be bothered to change our quote and resend us a revised version. I called him 3 times to send me a revised version, and he gave me lip-service" said I will send it it to you the next day. He never bothered

AVOID! Went to see owner to complain. He said its normal for new pave unis. I freaked out not same color. Never admitted that this is wrong with pave-unis not same colors. Never returns my calls always away. Just avoid this place if you don’t want to be surprised on delivery.

The Owner Angela is very nice. The employees knows their products well which are by the way well priced. Now the reasons of my 3 stars review is that I bought 2 trees and one of it died only 2 months after I got it. I planted it well and followed all the advice I was given.

I have been running behind them for 2 years to get my $50 refund after I drop off their palettes. Every time I call to get my refund they ask me to call next Tuesday. And the person on the other end of the phone is disrespectful as he just tells you it’s just $50 … Can’t believe it…!

Great service and beautiful choice. We found beautiful pavers, and quick service. Gratziela was exceptional in helping us choose the right trees and plants for our home. She is beyond knowledgeable.
