Great selection and wonderful environment!Staff is extremely helpful and when not able to provide an answer, strive to find out the answer (I find this is getting rarer these days, with people wanting to do the bare minimum, grumling when they actually have to do their job and then saying no instead). Businesses that go above and beyond by being problem solvers win my business and also have a greater chance of retaining customers. The price is slightly higher for the same product, but the staff are happy and willing to help. This also tells me the staff are being treated well. That's important to me.Just for the record, I just moved into the neighbourhood and your competition up the street lost me as a new customer because of your wonderful staff! I will continue to support Evergreen.:)

Evergreen is my FAVOURITE health food stir in the GTA. It’s small, easily crowded but has an amazing selection of quality products with great, competitive pricing. Thank you for serving the local community you guys!

Not bad at all. Their selection of non perishable items is quite good, but a bit different story with bulk stuff and packaged food in the back area of the store. There seems to be a lack of cool airflow. Food from that section is not fresh and smells rancid. Otherwise I find the store staff actually nice and knowledgeable (not the man, just the ladies). Years ago when they first opened some of the employees clearly lacked people skills. Between all the stores on Roncesvalles I always find what I need.

What I appreciate most is...they answer their phone! This is no small thing in these Covid times- I want to know if the store I’m going to has the item I’m looking for & Evergreen answers and checks to confirm. Very efficient today as I picked up my vitamins & was out again in 2 minutes flat! Always friendly and helpful.Unfortunately I had the exact opposite experience today (Jan 3, 2021) which is too bad because I walked for a half hour just to support this business. First a customer without a mask was being given service. I left and came back. This time the employee was drinking coffee. The employee not only didn't have a mask in my presence when I challenged them they suggested I go somewhere else!Regrettably Evergreen has become a no-go zone if you value your life- let alone your health.

*Update* *Covid 19* NO RESPECT FOR YOUR SAFETYI knew not to shop here but I did anyway.The owner who was stocking shelves asked me to go by and I told him I could wait and that I was trying to keep my distance to which he laughed at.No respect for these times.WorstpWorst I've seen at a Health food store. Complete rip off. I've been in, in a pinch and often walk out empty handed due to the exorbanent prices. Staff or owners? have been rude and pretentious on numerous occasions.

Bright, clean, and huge selection of health foods, supplements, bulk food, vitamins, protein powders. Coffee beans and a grinder, also a grinder to make your own peanut butter. Big store, friendly people

I am so upset I am writing this review. I have been a very loyal Evergreen customer for many years. It is likely the grocery/health food store I spend the most at monthly. I have received great advice and been happy to spend my hard earned money there.Today I went in with my 2 and 5yr old girls. It is always challenging as it is a very small store and the grocery carts provided have no seat for my 2 yr old. I decided after a first failed attempt at going in for our weekly pick up (my 2yr old began running up the aisle) that I would bring my umbrella stroller to strap her in and avoid disrupting the store. this meant having all of my purchases in a hand basket. The basket tipped over out my stroller and a jar off mayonnaise broke on the floor. I cleaned it all on my hands and knees with no help from the staff even getting several pieces in my fingers with no concern from them. Now this isn't what I am upset about. I was repeatedly apologetic, my 5 yr old felt terrible and kept apologizing too and when they ran my order threw and I was paying (literally they are running my debit card) they said we added the cost of an extra jar of mayo because of the accident on your bill". "But it was an accident

To the women Eira, who left a message here about another women’s review. You should be ashamed of yourself, for scolding another person for leaving their own opinion of their experience at this store. You’re obviously the friend of someone who works there, or maybe even an employee using another google account. Everyone is allowed to leave whatever review they want. You should focus on yourself and not others. You came on here purposely to give more stars to this place, to compensate for the other women’s one star review. You should have reviewed this place yourself, instead of commenting on someone else. Get a life.

I've been going to Evergreen on and off for about two years and but I just had a pretty awkward and unpleasant experience there. I walked in carrying a few bags as I'd been picking up my dry cleaning and shopping at other stores. I walked to the back of the store to take a look at the kimchi as I was looking for a particular brand. They didn't have it (no big deal), so I turned and walked out. As I was leaving the store a man at the counter yelled can I help you with something?" When I told him no and that I'd been looking for a particular brand. We then proceeded to have an awkward back and forth about what I was looking for that felt like I was being interrogated. The whole thing just felt really weird to the extent that I almost felt as though I should offer to let him look through my bags if he was worried about something. Not a nice feeling. Kim's is just up the street. They're very friendly and helpful. I'll be loyal to them from now on. They also carry the brand that I was looking for."

Amazing staff are always so kind. Massive variety of vegan and natural foods including vegan meats and yogurt that I haven't seen at many stores. They have great tea as well. Highly recommend!
