Absolutely gorgeous location inside and out although the security there like to steal coffee. Beware.

A cool place to stop in for a visit. Kingston has some beautiful architecture. We liked this too. It is all barricaded off and there was a security guard there. There are other hospital/university buildings close by. It was strange to see this among the hospital and university buildings. Creepy and cool. Worth the stop!

You actually are not allowed in the building. I do however recommend you take the haunted trolley tour which takes you right on the grounds.

We went sight seeing during the day and wanted to check it out at night...security was very tight. Stopped us and told us to leave. Very uneasy feelings here.

An impressive place! A huge structure!However, I am just curious when or if it will be opened for public visitation...that would be awesome to see inside of this building!The area is amazing, right in front of the water, with a terrific view!

This is a really creepy place,Mostly a tourist sight now as the asylum is abandoned it is a different sight to see in Kingston.The actual building itself is closed off and surrounded by fencing but the grounds are open to the public during the day.Security is very polite and is willing to be reasonable with you if you are following the rules.

It's a fantastic start, sight or finish for a beautiful walk along the shores of Lake Ontario. There is even an old small stone beach behind the asylum for dipping your toes or letting the kids have some fun.

Very creepy but cool place. Lots of history. You cannot go inside, only drive or walk around the outside. I think it would be great for the city to do tours of this place as well considering the history but it's likely quite run down.

This place is a beautiful yet horrifying part of Kingston's past. While very stunning on the outside, has a very dark history on the inside. For safety, the building is fenced off and has no trespassing signs and guards in duty. The inside has lots of asbestos and not safe without proper PPE.
