First General Waterloo Region - Property Damage Restoration

Worst service of all time. First General was brought to us through TD insurance. Claim was initiated in April 2022. It is now December and looks like project still won't be finished until 2023. Constantly cancelling and showing up on wrong dates. Too cheap to pay for a carpenter so edges are unfinished. They broke the vanity and had to replace it. The wrong toilet was installed. Took incorrect measurements so the mirror that was purchased was too big. The list goes on. Please do not work with these people.

So this is a response to the owner who sent the female project manager to my house. You said I was video taping. Well guess what . Thats what we were told to do from our INSURANCE COMPANY . And when your on private property you have no reasonable expectation of privacy.From the minute your manager showed up it was clear she did not know construction. And why would she not allow me to see moisture levels in my walls ? When I am having you do work in my home I expect a certain level of professionalism . Very unprofessional. And I can tell you for a fact im not the first person to kick her off a site. Am I wrong sir ? I do have the whole video of her unprofessional attitude if you would like me to post it for you ?. My advice to any home owner stay away from these guys.And we removed her from our claim my friend . Good luck with your company.

Go ANYWHERE else!!Showed up unannounced twice. Needed to borrow our tools. Needed a hand" carrying everything in and out of the house. Then left abruptly after installing galvanized piping for our water heater

We used First General after a water damage in our kitchen.We liked them.The project manager/estimator was Andrew. He was very available on the phone and e-mail, responded promptly and scheduled things quickly.We had Tim, Ron and Olivia as our team for dealing with the water damage. They were on time, very pleasant to interact with and did a good job as far as we can tell.I hope no water damage happens again in our house but if it does, I would call them again.

First General was called in after we had flooding in a finished basement room. The project manager (Andrew) was professional, courteous and kept things moving along while communicating any adjustments/revisions. Given the room had to be completely stripped down to the cinder block and concrete floor, there were a variety of services/teams involved to remove flood damage and restore the room to a state that was even better than before. Very happy and would recommend any day.

This company was hired by my insurance company. The woman that they sent in was not professional. Heartless in what we were going through. It was like she was here just to save the insurance company money. We kicked her out and told the insurance company this company would not be welcomed in our home again. They ended up calling First On-site and they have done a great job. My advice to this company would be not to rip home owners off because eventually everyone will just kick you out of their home. Good luck with your company if you continue like this. Home owner if you go through insurance and you feel like a company is putting the insurance company first then kick them out!!!

The staff at First General are top notch. Their ability to communicate with clients is fantastic, which is often overlooked by other companies. They make a great effort on keeping clients informed from beginning to end, along with transparency with the work being completed. Highly recommend the team at First General !

Opted to use their services through insurance incident mid July. Repairs were completed end of September with multiple visits required for door replacement. Large gap at the bottom of the door causing draft that was not previously there and the door would not close from the outside, tech was ok with this - we were not - very poor Craftmenship and professionalism. Overall not a good experience and I would not recommend or use again.

Amazing serviceWe didn’t know what to do after our basement flooded. Our insurance company sent First General and they helped us through everything. Everyone was professional and quick clean up!

Sent by my insurance company left me with no running water for over a month charged my insurance thousands of dollars for cleaning and tear out boxes cam back within a few days open them on video which i will share at request to find the items still wet and full of ants. Drilled holes in wall and put a fan near it to get water behind wall refused to check for water behind wall. Lied on paperwork literally and I am not kidding putting down itmes like a whatchamacallit ??? And zero dollaring items damaged so they can charge the insurance company like crazy for tear out and cleaning they clearly didn't do would not remove all the damaged flooring only parts of it any questions please contact me I will gladly share my experience with them in detail as well as pictures and video still on going with them
