I Googled for funeral homes, read reviews and, was impressed with excellent reviews about Kyle Grundy, the director of Basic Funeral and Cremation Choices. So, decided to go to their office at 2408 Haines Rd #2, Mississauga, without making an appointment. It was early March 2023 and, Kyle was in a meeting. But, his assistant, after talking to him, told me he would try to squeeze me in between his meetings. After sometimes Kyle came out of meeting room, introduced himself, and guided me to another room so we could talk in private. I mentioned about my wife being terminally sick and that; I need information on cremation services, process, cost, etc. I had a bit of review-skepticism as some do but, after talking to Kyle I realized the reviews I read about Kyle were definitely true. He was attentive, good listener, passionate and, accommodating. He gave me the information and useful advice that I needed as well, provided me with printed booklets, papers which covered all aspect of cremation services, processes, options and, cost for each option. At the end, he asked me to call anytime if I needed further information or clarification. It was May 8, 2023 when my wife passed away at home. I called Kyle and he dispatched his people - very professional I should say, to remove the body to their secure and temperature-controlled place before cremation takes place. Few days later I met Kyle to pay for expenses and pick up my wife’s urn. Every thing that Kyle promised was delivered and, the expense statement was exactly what I expected. Kyle is amazingly kind and extremely passionate person to deal with. He cares for his customers because he appreciates their pain and stress. Thank you Kyle for make this painful process easier for me.

When my son tragically passed away outside of Canada recently it was difficult beyond belief to both deal with the extreme grief and at the same time make arrangements to bring him home for burial, coordinate with funeral homes in two countries, as well as the very high expense. I contacted several funeral homes at the encouragement of family members and discovered they are not all alike, both in terms of service, compassion, and pricing. I felt guilty shopping around" for pricing to lay my son to rest but in the end I'm thankful I did. He would not have wanted me to pay for extravagances that were not necessary and the prices I'd been quoted by some other funeral homes were quite shocking. Ultimately I chose Basic Funerals and want others to know what a great experience I had with them. They even allowed me to purchase a specific casket I wanted from a retail supplier and ship it to them

Today we laid our loved one to rest and while it was difficult, the support, compassion and patience we received from Kyle of Basic Funerals and Cremations made this process so much easier. Having to plan a burial during the holidays is especially difficult, even logistically with office closures etc. Basic Funerals was able to facilitate our requests on short notice and were accommodating every step of the way. They were honest, fair and transparent in their pricing and in the handling of our affairs. I appreciated this approach because we had experience with other funeral homes where we felt like we were being taken advantage of at our most vulnerable moment. I would highly recommend Basic Funerals and Cremations to support you during your most difficult of times...they are unmatched. I would also like to extend a special thank you to Kyle for his kind words that helped put us at ease. The service was professional, understanding and human and for these reasons I wasted no time to write this review.

I was super impressed with the excellent service and transparent process of planning a direct to cremation funeral. I saw their website and took a risk and sent an email for information. They responded quickly and they were clear about the steps to the whole process and the costs. There were no hidden fees! I never felt pressured for a sale. They were very professional and when they said they would call or email they did so. The staff were so kind and informative and answered my many questions. The days of going to the funeral home and being given the “big sell” for stuff you are not sure you need are done. Online process, email tracking and accessible staff to talk to was exactly what we needed. Their prices were comparable and reasonable. Most of all the process went smoothly and I felt taken care of and I didn’t need to worry. Thank you so much Basic Funerals!

Something at my age I really didn't want to do (who does) but knew I had to get it done. Found this company on the internet and I'm so glad I did. The gentleman that I spoke with was ever so polite, understanding, had a great sense of humor, but most of all, had a soft and pleasing voice. He made me feel comfortable and that put me at ease right away to discuss something that nobody really wants to. We did everything on the phone and he told me everything I should expect in my EMAIL. It all happened as he said. Then I spoke with a lovely lady on the phone who helped me through the contract arrangements. Her voice, demeanor and overall interest in my behalf made everything so simple. I'm so glad all my arrangements are done EXACTLY the way I want them to be and there will be no hassle for my family whenever the time comes. Thank you Patrick and Tanya! I recently used Basic Funerals & Cremation for my father’s cremation. The entire team were extremely easy to deal with, replied to emails/calls right away and catered to every request. Their prices are excellent too. I would highly suggest using them if a family member/ or someone you know passes as they take a lot of the stress away and don’t make anything difficult. We used Basic Funerals and Cremation Choices when a family member passed away. They were compassionate and very responsive. They answered our many questions. We only needed a very basic package without many items that other establishments charged for. We shopped around and found their prices to be excellent and with no hidden fees. Highly recommended.
