Submitted on behalf of Neil Campbell.Just to share my experience at the hands of Brian Armstrong and Lake Side Auto. On June 26, 2020 I bought my vintage '75 TVR in for a rear main seal replacement. The car was ready for collection approx 4 hrs later and a bill presented in the amount of $484.15 for parts and labour. I paid the bill by Visa and drove it to the nearest gas station whereupon I discovered that the car was still smoking badly and oil still leaking as before. No work had been done period! Ten minutes later and back at his lot, I found him to be in paralytic surprise as I approached him with my findings and witnesses present, he reluctantly refunded my money. A true admission of guilt! Subsequently, I took the car to a local mechanic that came highly recommended to verify. He replaced the seal with a new one which I purchased. Problem solved! Incidentally, the removal of the oil pan is not required yet appeared on my invoice. A very disappointing experience!!!!!!

Wow! Thorough, professional, fast and top quality work. I was really impressed that they didn’t take advantage of a woman not knowing anything about what was wrong with my Audi. I expected to have to pay a lot more and was pleasantly surprised. They know their business! I won’t hesitate to recommend their services again.

Brian the owner is a great dude and a very honest mechanic, he used to work on my dad's c6 and so I went to him with my first car, an ex35, since day one. Over the past week, Brian did a control arm job for me and the part his supplier gave to him wasn't aligning to spec. And so he continued to rip the junky one back out, and new install a more expensive arm straight from the dealer, over 4 hours of labor at his expense could have avoided by just sending me off blindly, but he was very honest and straight forward with the issue. Had to wait the weekend for the proper part but the car now feels amazing, its night and day, would recommend no one else in town, very open dude. I've come to him with quotes from the dealership from when I had a recall done, and quotes from mr.lube that he simply told me where nonsense, very honest mechanic lol you don't find many of em anymore. Omg omg I wish I could give these wonderful people 10 stars! We were visiting from out of town, and got a serious hole in our tire. These beautiful souls were on their lunch and obviously very busy and legit stopped what they were doing to instantly help us fix the hole. I cannot say thank you enough especially since this is a long weekend. You are so amazing. I genuinely appreciate you so much. Bonus points, found out they were Portugese like us! Thanks again. We will be back in 2 months and coffee is on me!

I was very impressed with Lake Side Auto. This was my first time taking my vehicle to them. They squeezed me in just before the long weekend even though they were extremely busy. Great job and price on the repair. I will definitely be taking my vehicles to them in the future.

Can’t thank Brian enough for the service I received! While needing my winters switched over I also knew I had some maintenance issues I needed looked at.. he let me know of what was needed and had it fixed in a very timely fashion as well!!!
