Hi-Tech Energy Windows & Doors

Ordered a door that took at least 6 moths to install. After less than a year the paint on this rather expensive door started peeling and the threshold plate broke and nails are rusted. Called to have it looked at and was told they'd fix it/repaint. Have called repeatedly to get this fixed and still haven't had any response. It's been two years since it was installed and a year since we've tried to get this addressed and still nothing. Deeply disappointed with the quality and service and are out thousand+ dollars.

I contacted Their sales rep Paul after a recommendation from a friend.I needed gutters, rotted trim and a patio door replaced.Paul came out and was extremely friendly and professional.When the work began with the gutter subcontractor, Paul was in touch to make sure everything was as I expected. The crew that did the gutters was quick and professional. Completed and cleaned up all in a timely manner. The next step was fixing wood rot at the trim. Paul came out to go over everything with me as the gentleman doing the work began. He was fantastic. Both the gutters and trim were completed and all we were waiting on was our door.Realizing how manufacturers are in the post pandemic world, I was very concerned that the job would not be completed before the winter as we were still waiting on the door.I was in touch with Paul and Lou and will say I was pleasantly surprised that they worked to ensure we got our door installed today. The 2 gentlemen who did the door install were friendly, polite and professional. If possible, the work area was cleaner than when they arrived.I have to admit, Hi-Tech was excellent to deal with, they stuck to the quoted timeline and they have ensured that I was a happy customer.There are many repairs that my home needs, and I will not hesitate to call Paul at hi-tech for my next project!

Hi I had Hi Tech windows installed in my house. In my Family Room window the casing screws rusted and one split off inside the casing. I’m working with Sean to get the rusted screws replaced/ fixed as they should have been galvanized or stainless steel since the window opens. They were just regular screws painted white.Hope this gets resolved soon my opinion of Hi Tech was very high up to this point. But rusty screws in thousands of dollars of windows is not a good sign.Update: 11/10/21 tech came out and fixed the issue, not great that it happened to start with, but service and follow up were great, can’t ask any more of a company when problems occur. I would be confident in dealing with Hi- Tech in the future.

The windows are great and look good. The outside doors not so good. They don’t close properly and the back door was put on backwards. They feel cheap. We called a week or so after install in September and was told someone was coming to take a look. No one contacted us, and with the cold the door is getting worst, it’s more noticeable. Happy Canadian made.

Employees of the company made eight separate visits to my residence. After the first one, they provided us with a quote to replace seven windows and fix one. On the next six visits, they failed to bring parts to fix the broken window. On their last visit, they fixed it only partly and told me I'd have to pay them for more parts from them to finish the job. Upon installing the seven new windows, they did not clean anything up, leaving smudges and grime on both sides of every window. Every window surround had dents, marks and scratches. They left PVC shavings covering my garage and driveway. They installed the incorrect casing (red oak instead of PVC) on one window. They made several more visits, each time forgetting to bring the right equipment and supplies to install the correct casings and make repairs. My e-mails to the company went unanswered for over a month. I had to repeatedly clean their messes and stay on them to complete the work I paid them to do, which is still not finished. I did not notice any energy savings over the winter.I am not impressed with their product and entirely disappointed with their service.

After several attempts to repair our patio door that leaked every time it rained and the yellowing door slabs. Hi Tech finally replaced the entire door on warranty. The door slabs were a slightly different white than the casing so we had hi-tech paint them bright white. The color was perfect but the paint job was oversprayed on the window and chipping around the top window. Also what we were not told is the bottom would be going from a beautiful aluminum footplate to an ugly cheap black plastic that sounds hollow when you step on it. Hi Tech confirmed that this is now their standard and no other foot plate is available. I sent pics of this to Polar Windows in Winnipeg and they confirmed that they do no use this black plastic and that they use aluminum as we had before the replacement.

We recently had our front door replaced, and are extremely happy with the final product. Tom's expertise, knowledge and suggestions were very helpful in making a decision. He was also very patient while I decided on a final colour! The door, sidelights and transom are all of superior quality and we already notice a noise reduction from the street.Thank you Hi-Tech!

Contacted hi-tech a month ago about this strip that came off my window & taps against the glass. Was told someone would come by the next week to fix it. I sent another message. Sadly their warranty is just a selling point!

If I could give zero stars I would. The installers broke a piece of the frame of my door when they installed it. That was a year and three months ago. I have been calling once a month now to remind them about the piece that needs to be replaced. They never get back to me, they constantly lie to me and tell me it’s on order when clearly, it’s not. And they always transfer me to a different line where no one picks up and no one responds to my voicemail. I have been very polite for 15 months now. Not sure what I need to do to get these people to honour their installation and warranties.

Had two windows and 1 door installed 3 months ago..very clean work and very good windows. We were planning on going with Green Brand Windows and Doors because their quote was cheaper. But a few houses in my neighborhood had very bad experience with Green Brand. So we chose Hitech in the end.Very happy with our decision to go with hitech..I would definitely recommend.
