Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

Upon arrival, our room that was supposed to be ready at 4pm was not ready until 7pm, and it was the wrong room. When we tried to check in, the girl at the front desk told me we'd be in a room in the 300's, but what we ended up with was in the 200's and it was very disappointing. For $900/night, we were definitely expecting more. I've stayed in $200/night rooms that were nicer and cleaner than this one. We discovered what we thought was mouse droppings on our counter on day 2, and that was confirmed when we found it in our bags when we got home. On top of the mice in our room, the housekeeping was not great at all. When spending this much money on a room for our engagement weekend, at the very least, we were hoping to have our coffee refilled for the next morning and the bed to made properly, not rushed and sloppy.As mentioned, I surprised my girlfriend and proposed to her. I ordered a picnic basket which came with the wrong items in it. $290 (including the $38 tip they gave themselves) for two sandwiches, two bananas and two bottles of $20 Prosecco.Also, where is the security? There were people in their 20's partying in the hot tub, super drunk, that were not even patrons of the resort so they said. They just crashed the place.The only saving grace for this was the outstanding restaurant staff and great food. Having the reputation that this place has for being such a prestigious resort, our experience was disappointing and not the magical place I was hoping it would be.

Amazing golf today and the scenery is amazing. Tired after golf so stopped for a bite. Haley took care of us. Service was amazing and she was so friendly. Nicholas prepared our lunch which was also awesome and he even came to make sure we were happy with it. Amazing staff.

One of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth. Staff generally were very helpful when you approached them. The rooms are completely unacceptable for $600 a night. No AC or heat. No hot water. Room was not cleaned once in 3 nights. Extremely run down rooms equivalent to $120 a night anywhere else. The hotel restaurant food is insanely over priced and low quality.

Went golfing yesterday and stopped in to the Thompson Terrace where Chef Nick prepared us “Lobster Rolls and Brisket on a Bun”…… it was so amazing! Don’t ever let this kid go! Not only is he a great Chef, he has personality oozing out and made sure we were happy with everything! PS our server Christina was absolutely lovely and attentive as well and accommodated all of our needs!

I love staying at the Fairmont when I travel though. It is the most pet- friendly place I have ever come across. I have 3 dogs they are always welcomed graciously. We love the paths to walk along.The menu for both human & dogs are also outstanding, when we don't feel like room service it is nice to bring them to the lobby for dinner as well.I appreciate the care that they take when I book in. It is so nice to have a safe place to park & quiet rooms.

We stayed for 3 nights in the signal cabins. They were rustic but well appointed. We didn't realize there was no air conditioning as we've only ever stayed here previously in the winter, but luckily, the weather was cooler during our stay. There were fans to help with the heat, but it was slightly warmer than I prefer. The grounds are so scenic. You can't be bored with all the amenities that JPL offers. It was a nice getaway!

There is a lot to like about this hotel but we didn't have a great experience. We booked two rooms for a two night stay in May.When we arrived at about 5pm after a day of driving, my wife had to wait about 25 minutes at the checkin desk to then be told our room was not ready, and they would text us when it was. After 90 minutes of hearing nothing we went back to the front desk and waited in line again, finally at about 630pm we got into the room we had been paying for since 3pm.The room was a bit disappointing with trash just outside, broken phone, broken television. Exhausted we slept and once again went to the front desk the following day. They offered to change our room (after unsuccessful repair attempts to the phone/tv), which we accepted but they did not make it clear at the time that the new room was not ready, and once again we found ourselves on the resort in the late afternoon of our second day without access to our hotel room. A couple of hours later we had an upgraded room and enjoyed the last few hours of our stay.It's a beautiful resort, the interactions with individual staff were great, but as travellers having access to our hotel room for the dates and times we've paid for it is really important and in this area we were let down. We plan around this.

We had a great experience during our swing into spring over the May long weekend. Everybody who golfed had a great time with the instructors, who were friendly and polite and extremely helpful. We had fun with the golf pros who were also kind as to allow us to cart with the golf course.The rooms were well air-conditioned as we were fortunate enough to have great hot weather. The rooms were kept clean and the resort is very dog friendly! So that was a big plus.The food has been excellent, as well as the waiters. We ate at the Orso, as well as the pro shop patio, where we were serve delicious food by Nicolas who also accommodated all our needs and requests!

We were there 25 and 26 April. Wonderful location. We paid for a room in the main lodge and enjoyed the lake view. We were there for 2 nights to celebrate a birthday. The greatest disappointment was the food. The menus are small and the dishes should not be a challenge to any competent kitchen. For example, the French onion soup was so salty that my wife could not eat it. The waiter confided others had said the same. The baked chicken wings were baked an hour too long. I ate 2 and left the rest. Truly all the meals were underwhelming. The wait staff were very good but the 10$ discount for dinner for two was hardly a recognition of our feedback.Also our room the first night did not get refreshed until I complained at 345 pm. This was a surprise as House Keeping had texted us that morning to check on things.It is very hard to recommend this hotel for any reason but its location.
